2008 E63
mbworld newbie!!!
Well I finally made the jump into the AMG world. I sold my SRT 300 and my KB cobra and will be buying a 2008 e63 with 29K on the odometer. I have always loved the AMG cars, but never had the opportunity to buy one. I have been reading a ton of threads and the site is awesome and full of great information. I take possesion of the car hopefully next week.
I definetely want to make the car a little louder, but I am stuck on what to do. I am not sure if I should delete the resonator only or also delete the secondary cats??? Not looking for crazy loud just a nice deep rumble. Also does anyone know of a good exhaust shop near chicago? I don't mind traveling a little bit, but I don't want to take the new car to some cheap shop.
Thanks

I am pretty **** with my cars, but I did not know that some vendors sell pre-bent pipes. I figured I could use a maganflow x pipe and then just get some pipes and then find a good welder. What vendors sell the pipes and possibly x pipe? What size is the stock pipe so I could order an x pipe if need be?
Thanks

Your most likely not gonna find a respectable exhaust shop to delete your cats. Find a performance shop of some type or someone trustworthy to install your pipes on the side if you buy prebent ones. The federal fine for a shop caught removing cat's from a car is incredible. I have an exhaust shop that does all kinds of work and knows me quite well and they won't delete the cats. Many exhaust shops won't even want it on their lifts if they know the cats are removed.

You're going to love it. Easy, easy mod and it makes a world of difference. Have someone else cold start it for you and stand behind it when they do.
