Why do I feel my car is slow?

Just got back from practicing my launches at a 1/8th track and I feel like my car should be faster but idk...my mods are just H/E and pump

DA was 1249

74° and 91% humidity

Best time:
1.938 60ft
8.251 1/8th
86.88 mph

Is it just the humidity or should I check somethings?

8.2 for stock at a (probably) under prepped track seems very good.

When I was stock, I ran 8.5 - 9.0... If this is street tires, you are doing just fine!!

If you look at stock E55's on dragtimes, you will see times from 8.0 to 8.5. Tires and prep play a very big role. Your 60' times (if street tires) is good.. so start modding!!!

Yea street tires on 20"radenergie's and first time out...i think the humidity is affecting that trap though as ive raced cars that trap higher and have beat them.

I think the part that bothers me is that my 335i did 7.9@91mph on only 93 and bald tires.

I agree, you are doing well when looking at the big picture. Good luck at the meet next Saturday.

Ok I just ordered a pulley not too long ago and that and the tune should be done next month sometime.

Another question...does weather conditions affect the E55 a lot? Because why do some stock E55s trap 117 stock and others 112?

It completely effects it. Almost night and day. The DA and temp of the air/car are the most important things.

Granted I know they are larger than stock but aren't they still lighter?

ehhhhhhh probably not--- depends on the model you have. Even their forged versions are almost if not 30lbs and the increased rolling diameter/inertia has to play a role. Couple that with 20 inch low profile tires and you have a slower(feeling) car.

Friction keeps the tire from slipping and also propels vehicle. While torque hasn't changed required friction force to prevent slip drops by the ratio of before and after diameter. Assuming 20" wheels versus 18" thus could mean a 10% reduction in force/ torque

Smaller dia wheels usually weigh less and do decrease the time it takes to accelerate to a given speed. Each 1in increase of diam (assum wieght is same) will rob you of a tenth of second or two in acceleration time. Top speed will rise though by. A couple of mph per inch dia increase . My E63 w18s got me to 156mph according to speedo. W 19s I now get to see 158mph on speedo. But I prob lose 0.1 second or so 0-60. I don't care tho as my new CLS63 PP rims look sOOoo much better IMO. Also the weight diff between my old rims and new forged rims will actuaLly negate the nomal tenth of a second or so loss that I would normally expect to have to live with during acceleration. For me it was a win-win then.

'05 E55 on ADV1s
1/8 miles times are hard to find. Stock '05 on a cool night in SC, 62* and 71% humidity 19" HREs with street tires at 35#

4 in the lows 8s then let her set and did the sneaky ECU reset for my best of:

1.824
7.987
87.008

I want to go again when it's cold

Honestly, more than ANY car I have ever owned. Mostly a heat and DA issue.
