New Vendor? Ecu Tuning?
Just saw ECU tuning group is a new sponsor/vendor here. Anyone work with them? Looks like they tune everything and both ECU/TCU?

OMG my cousin has been raving about this tuner to me for a long time! I always wondered if a Singh Autosport tune would be good for my car because of the TCU flash it comes with. Doesn't matter anymore because I have the EC TCU flash. Apparantly ECU Tuning Group used to be Singh Autosport here in the Bay Area.

I've heard nothing but good things from my cousin. He has tuned my cousins 2012 GTR, 997 GT2, E60 M5, and E92 M3 with great results.

Quoting from the the ETG website:
"Forum Politics?
Forum administrators allow the promotion of products that don’t necessarily work purely because the company providing the product is a sponsor. Forum subscribers are like sheep that follow the flock; they take these forums as gospel. They assume that the administrators and other members have their best interests at heart but in reality it’s all a numbers game. The administrators cater to their sponsors and the subscribers are kept in line by deletion of new and innovative companies and products if they are not directly sponsoring the forum. The reason why companies such as ours do not support forums is its not an open board for discussion as it is promoted to be. It’s only an open discussion for those who put money in the forum administrator’s pocket. This is a purely political domain – if you play the game then you get the recognition. We believe as a company that there is a lot of false advertising in this industry that gives this industry a bad name. Forums will help sell their contributors products with full knowledge that they do not work. These people have only their wallets on their minds not their subscriber’s vehicle’s performance. Sometimes it surprises me how these ‘tuners’ have time to even be involved in a forum discussion? Don’t they have work to do? We barely get time to respond to emails let alone discuss the weight of the lug nuts on a BMW."
And yet, here they are supporting this forum. I'm so confused.

I looked on the site and it says $1395 for ecu and tcu tune, that doesn't sound crazy expensive to me. It just depends on what you were buying on how much more you may pay compared to say Eurocharged. OE Tuning is listed at $1100 for just an ecu tune on their site so that is considerably more than Eurocharged ($700) and even ECU Tuning Group ($850).
In comparision it is $700 for ecu tune and $650 for tcu from Eurocharged so that is only $50 cheaper for the combo instead of going the ECU Tuning Group route or OE ecu tune and Eurocharged TCU tune combo would be $1750, so $350 cheaper doing the ecu/tcu combo through Tuning Group.
They charge $845 for a tune, which is $145 more for just a tune compared to the cheaper Eurocharged but $250 cheaper than OE.
Or $2600 for ecu/tcu/pulley from Tuning Group compared to the same from Eurocharged for $2250.
So it offers another option that is reasonable in my opinion.

In regards to Forum politics, I agree with the statement they made in some respects, but they obviously have changed their policy. That is OK.
On this forum, I truly believe the vendors (in most cases) have our best interest in mind. Over the last year, it seems the drama has subsided, and vendors are helping each other to better serve the customer. I think some members, and maybe some vendors think the services / products are mutually exclusive. Not true, I have stuff from many vendors and love them all. Soon, Ill have the TCU upgrade, which will create one hell of a signature

Also, the price has lot's to do with it. Most of the new guys are jumping on board having spent ~$20K for an E55. I had a long conversation with a good guy about prices of tunes. If someone buys a $70K GTR (or whatever they cost), I can see how a $1500 tune really is insignificant. Now, a guy spending $20K on an E55 will probably think differently about spending that kind of money on a tune.
The fact that a company charges less for the tune does NOT mean that that company's product is not as good. IMO, this just shows me that the company charging less for the tune is more "in tune" with its target audience. I for one am not impressed with the guy that charges $1500 for an E55 tune and the same for a F10 M5 tune...

Always glad to hear that a new vendor has engaged our market. Being that ecu tuning can easily "make you or break you" (literally), I would be cautious in choosing a tuner over a small difference in price.
As it stands, OE Tuning has the three quickest/fastest non-nitrous E55s in the country. That alone says volumes to me.

I paid 1100 for my kleemann tune and its seen a higher boost pulley, added a bigger tb and the A/F has stayed perfect with adding more mods without even retuning it.
went from 480whp to 502whp and then 530whp with the same file on my car for almost 2 years now.
no check engine lights and the car passes smog with no catts.for another 500 over X tuner I would pay that for piece of mind anyday.

There's only one company that can charge a premium and that's renntech.there tuning is 2.5 x more but you can have the flash at a mb dealer and keep your warranty
If I spend 100k on a twin turbo v8 you can bet you car ill only put a renntech tune on it.

^ I find that hard to believe and would consider it a, "your mileage may vary", scenario at best. If you blow a piston or vent your block, they would definitely point their finger at the tune, just saying.

I would hope that a dealer installing anything aftermarket would warranty the part, but only MBUSA has the final say on anything OE.

Did the Ecu just self adapt to your changes?
