I've had my E55 for almost a year now and its not my daily driver. My daily driver is an Infiniti G35. I've only put 3,000 miles on it since I've had it and its got 61,xxx.

E63 DD

My C55 serves as DD.

I drive my E63 when I want to for fun, it serves as 2nd car in the colder months, but as 3rd car in the Summer when the SL gets used a lot.

24K miles on the E63.

About 45,000 and only on the road in summer. It's seen a lot of Europe. Last month in Italy.

The CLK has never seen rain and has about 7,000 miles.

16 GLE63S
07 E63 daily driver 59k miles

My E63 gets about 80 miles round trip daily, I take the back roads to sometime blow the carbon when the roadway becomes too congested.

Thanksgiving was an awesome drive from MD to VA with the crisp air and some of the leaves still on the trees. It was one of those days where you just and listen to the engine sing its song.

My E55 is my DD and I drive 100 miles (50 each way) daily to and from work. I got it 2.5 years ago with 23K miles on it and it now has 63k miles on.

It's like flying an F16 to work every day.

I lub it!

2007 E63 AMG
Daily Driver (when I am not riding my Yamaha FJR1300).

I had never seen an E63 on the road until I purchased this one two weeks ago. Dealer says they might sell 2 a year in our area.

Well, now that we have too many kids, the mini-van is our primary car. That leaves the E55 and 996TT for me .

It's about a 70/30 split 996/E55, primarily because the 996 is a better winter car in Iowa.

I live near Iowa City and have never seen either an E55 (let alone a wagon) nor a 996TT in Iowa.

Sucks to be lonely.

My 06 E55 is my daily driver and has been since I purchased it. Snow is no problem for me... I don't use snow tires either... Have over 63k on it now...

I see different uses yet all with a common theme. It appears most enjoy driving their cars and I am no exception. I also take the longer routes sometimes just for more seat time.

AgSilver, what type of mods do you have on your 55? I see gold colored hoses under the hood.

It's a gold foil that has been used in aerospace and motorsports for many years. It effectively reflects about 99% of all radiant heat, specifically from the headers. It has also been applied to the air boxes.

My E63 is driven on nice days, other days when the rain chance is above 20% it sits under some king size sheets in the garage. The beater truck is driven on rainy or windy days. My wife claims that is **** but when she did I threatened to vacuum the attic and she backed down. It's really fun to baby the car and helps with mileage and resale value.

The resale value on an AMG is complete and utter crap, regardless of mileage!!! And rain really isn't going to hurt these cars... I drive mine in rain storms, snow storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes. I was even off road in mine a few days ago... Had a blast drifting in the mud... What the heck is the point of owning a car like this if you aren't going to drive it!!!

I agree with you on the resale value, it really sucks. On caring for the car we would just need to compare my car and your car to see why someone paying (big bucks) would want the nicer car. Now, I agree totally about driving the car like you do, I just have never been able to drive much in those conditions but hell to each his own. Finally, I drive my car extremely hard and enjoy it so it's more the cosmetics that are important, imo.

Reviving an old thread, now 5 years on are any of you still DD'ing these?

I'm about to take the plunge on an 07 E63 with 40k miles. I'm planning on around 25k miles a year in it. I have a fuel card from work too..!
