A calm day today got me curious about a couple of things:

Which of you use your E63s and E55s as daily drivers versus a second, third or so car?

How many miles do you have so far?

What percentage does the 63 constitute of new E class cars sold in the US?

My uneducated guess on the third question has always been around 10%. Although mine is not a daily driver, I must say I see less than 1 out of 10 Es on the road being a 63 or 55 when I am out on the weekends; albeit area, timing and others have a lot to do with it. I have 33,000 miles on a 2007. Thank you.

 

My E55 is currently my daily driver (only had it 2 weeks now)... but once the snow sticks on the ground, I will have to switch back to my 4x4 truck...

 

my 04 became my daily driver about 9 months ago - just turned 51K miles - nice cold bay area days in the morning have been incredible lately!!

It's my daily driver, I put about 12K miles a year on it.

 

Mine is my DD. Just hit 25k miles the other day.

 

E55 daily driver since 2006. Best five "car" years of my driving life - and they're continuing.

 

Weekend Driver. work less then 4 miles from home. NYC..
My DD heat gauge sometime just get to normal before shutting down.
I was told that is no good for the E63 it needs to warm up and the short drives are not good.

 

Daily driver here.....2 miles to work, 2 miles home. I'm really racking up the miles!

E55 has 59k and is my DD

A) I live in Houston so weather is not an issue
B) and more importantly; with such a beast of a car, I cannot imagine why someone would not want to drive this daily??? Why take this out only on weekend - you buy these to go fast... I guess some guys like to go fast on weekend only?? Oh well, I love it!

 

Daily driver here. Owned it for approximately 1 year, put about 20K miles on it. During the last year, i've made the 120 miles roundtrip commute and enjoyed every minute of it.

 

Only drive her on sunny days and garage her for the winter. Currently at 60K

 

My 06 was my daily driver and bought W210 E55 2000 7 months ago to share the mileage. But unfortunately had a carrier change so new job only 1.2 mile from home so only drive 3 miles a day. Monday W211, Tuesday W210, Wed W211, Thursday W210, Friday W211. Week-end mini-van.

 

08 e63. Daily Driver. I've put about 3k on it in the 3 months I've owned it.

 

08 E63 51k not a daily driver, more like a weather permitted driver. I drive my 01 E320 as my other car.

 

daily driver, roughly about 38,200 miles on it so far. looking to purchase a clk350 or c250 for a daily soon

 

the best daily driver I had ever had although it's not so good on gas mileage but the joy compensate for it ....

 

SvtAmg, you are absolutely right! I have a 32 mile one-way drive to downtown LA. The traffic is just so horrible that I don't really get to enjoy the car as much during the week. A similar but different experience to Sunil517’s with a short drive to work before their car gets a chance to warm up. I find the weekend traffic to be a bit better, although not by much at times. I guess it comes with the territory when you live in LA.

My E63 is my "majority" driver... it may get 2 days per week usage sometimes 3. While that doesnt equate to a majority of days in a week- my others cars are rotated in and out so they get even less usage.

 

E Cinco Cinco is relegated to reserve duty. Weekends only
White wheels are such a PITA to keep clean

BTW The RX-7 only comes out on Sunday Mornings or to Auto Shows

08 e63 = my daily

 

07 E63... Eagerly await the oil temp to hit 80c each morning while I drinking my cup of coffee.. By the time the caffeine hits,.. I stop dropping gears and now I'm doing

 

05 E55. Had been the daily driver up until last year. I lived in wonderful, sunny So. Cal. and had a 20 mi. roundtrip commute- all surface roads. Switched jobs in 06 and the commute to the new office was 40 miles one way, up PCH and through Malibu Canyon. Loved it. Last year, transferred to DC office. New office is 1.4 miles from home. I walk now or take the bus or Metro when it rains. But on weekends, you should see my smile when Mercedes and I hit the roads for fun. 120k and many more to go.
