I had my Kleeman Headers Jet Coated 2 years ago when I bought them brand new and have had zero issues. I used Jet Hot's facility in Tempe, AZ. You will need to select a coating that has a minimum rating of 1300F for temperature tolerance, based on the typical peak exhaust temperatures for the E55K, anything less will cause the coating to flake off.
One of the main benefits of coating is to keep the heat inside the pipe and reduce radiation.
Here is a poor picture of my Jet Hot coated Kleemans:
Hope this helps.

Great info. I will remember these details when I get the headers coated.
Thank you!

I've got some shorty headers on the way, and have been trying to figure out if it's worth having them coated. It sounds like it might be worth it for long tubes, but not so much for shortys. Would increased exhaust temps bother my primary cats? (the stock manifolds dont look coated so I presume they dump a fair amount of heat into the engine bay)

I will now sit around and watch the fan boys that have overpaid for things for years go crazy.

Oh and about the coating, if you have it done get it done inside and out. It will keep the heat in the exhaist stream and help keep underhood temps down. These cars seem to need all the help they can getting heat out of the engine bay so I'd get the coating if you have the money.
The coating will typically flake off in anything from a few months to maybe 2-3 years tops though. depends on the quality and conditions they see but it will flake off sooner or later.
Agreed.
