Does anyone get 300+ miles out of their tank?
So filling up this morning I figured I'd ask the forum as I often wonder. I filled up last week on Sunday and took it easy for a week to get that 300 miles on the trip odometer. At 265 miles the gas light went on..(ok it'd probably make it to 300). I have a great tune from Jerry, not rich or lean.
So I have decided not to take it easy anymore..seems whether you do or not the car eats the same. One week was enough..ok ok some WOT here and there did happen. Let's see how many miles this tank lasts
Oh. And never have I seen the 2 as the first mpg digit. Have you?

I average 21mpg on my trips between LA and San Francisco. It's about 350 miles one way and I can make it without a refill in good traffic, but I end up refilling because of the cheaper gas out in rural areas.

I took a little road trip and at 70 mph I got 23 mpg. Around town (22 mile 1 way commute with half stop and go Houston traffic) I got a measured 19 mpg (just checked thursday). I can easily get 300 miles on a tank. BTW, how bid is our tank?

It's a little annoying to fill up often with such a big tank..21 gal is it? can't complain though.
What was really annoying is owning a big turbo Evo with its tiny tank, always getting gas. Love the E55 though - she deserves to eat all the gas she wants ). Good to see I'm not alone.

When I had a 30 mile commute, I would average 20s consistently.... I got it up to 23 once.... Since my last oil change, my total average right now is 18.3.... That is going to go down considerably though, as I am retiring the E55 to evening/weekend use and bought a beater (literally) for every day use...

Not much more if ever...On a long highway trip close to 350-400 if I wait thru almost all of the last 1/4, but I can't make myself do that so it was a one time experiment. The highest trip average I've seen on the computer is 20.7mpg. My average for the almost 3 years I've owned it.? 14.1mpg

I just got back from Germany a couple hours ago and had a BMW 318 diesel while I was out there. At 200 kmh(124 mph) it was still knocking down over 25mpg, riduculous! I don't know how many miles I get per tank, but my average over the last 2 years is 15.3 mpg. I see about 11 or 12 in town and 19-23 on the highway depending on the direction and speed of the wind.

I've done over 400 miles to the tank driving from Phoenix to northern California.
The odo trip meter said I was at 24 mpg but I was barely over 23 with the mileage/gallons.
The 7 speed sure does help!

On my '07 E63 I can regularly get between 350 - 400 miles to a tank, and also around 22 mpg (give or take a few tenths). That is all highway, and I rarely dip into the gas unless some tool bag ticks me off, or I have had a rough day.
I have seen above 23 mpg a few times, but do not remember how many miles I got to that tank.

400? Unbelievable...
After all I call them Smiles Per Gallon. But it would be nice to see 300.
7th speed certainly helps in the E63. I've never seen 20 on the highway either. Great feedback guys.

400 miles on a tank is very possible. While driving from Hollywood to Valencia yesterday (24 miles highway, 4 city, some uphills) I got 22.2mpg.
22.2mpg x 20.6 gallons = 457.32 mile
22.2mpg x 20.6 gallons = 457.32 mile
