Driver's Side Valve Cover is Leaking a Bit - How Much to Fix?

Guys,

After using the search feature (See I use search!) I hear this is a pretty common issue with E-Series and is generally covered under warranty. Just curious how much does this type of repair cost if done by the dealer?

Thanks!

Alex

Thanks guys for the help as always. For a DYI, should I replace both the gasgets and sealant and where should I buy these?

Thanks as always.

Do you guys use any high heat silicone when doing, and is there specific tourq for the bolts or just enough to that they are tight...

Someone should make a DIY for it... :-)

The gaskets go on dry (same as when the engine is assembled brand new) and the torque is very low in the 8-10ft.lbs range. The Torque sequence is very specific and you have start at the center and work your way out to the edges in a criss-cross pattern. Silicone \ Permatex \ RTV is only required for the top covers for the PCV breathers that are bolted to the valve covers.
