Anyone have any problems with the bumper not going back all the way? Due to the larger heat exchanger, I've already ground off the tabs in the middle of the bumper. When I put it on, I really have to push to get the plastic hook into the front of the fender and the back of the bumper is still short by about ¼" on both sides?

At the time I did the bumper ,I was running the stock exchanger . I was very happy with the fit of the conversion. I will be upgrading the heat exchanger soon though. Which exchanger are you running ? I'll be interested to see just how much you have to trim for when I do mine.

Couldn't find a point of contact. I was able to get a second pair of hands to help me push it into place while I put the bracket on. It's been sitting on top of my other car for 8 months since I bought it used, so maybe it deformed a little?

Is this a bumper that you purchased from here? or somewhere else? I only ask because you may have a non 100% OEM spec copy. (those are actaully quite smaller and narrow) I had one and i could not get it to fit because the heat exchanger would foul against it. i ended up trimming the 2 tabs from the center plastic support and also grinded ALLOT of the bottom of the bar as it was hitting the HE. if i tried to force it on then the bar would look deformed and the headlight jets flap would not shut completely because of the torsion pressure.
Since then i ended up buying a 100% OEM spec bumper and installed it yesterday and even with the huge Aftermarket HE that i got, it fit fine, its just touching the HE. i still had to grind off the middle support tabs because the E63 never had a supercharger so they were able to utilize those middle tabs.
Best way to tell if its a 100% copy or not is buy observing the size of the grill that's around the fog lights., and the placement of the center grill. The non OEM copy has much smaller grills (also the grills are a different look and finish) I'll take photos and show you.

Hey Gary, would you happen to know the part number for the chrome bezel that surrounds the left/drivers side foglight? Mine fell off and I am not sure if this is sold separately or has to be purchased with the side mesh?

My E63 Conversion. Shout out to Gary and every converts on this thread
Hello everyone,
I stumbled upon this thread and after seeing all the amazing transformations, I started hunting for a W211 to convert. Thankfully I found a good one several weeks ago - 2006 E500 with 50k miles in mint condition. As a novice when it comes to mods, I am so grateful to Gary for his guidance every step of the way. This thread was a great source of information and I appreciate every one of your contributions. Without further ado, here is my conversions. Please ignore the crappy cell phone pics.
First some before pics....

There you have it guys. Thank you all for making this happen. Here is where I could use your advise. I really like having the big star logo on the front grille as opposed to the OEM grilles and can't stand the small logo on the grille since I already have one on the hood. I have tried a white and a black grille and still not totally satisfied. Which below do you prefer or do you have a better suggestion? Thanks in advance.
