Hmmm. I did this not too long ago, but for the life of me, I am not 100% positive.
I think the electrical clip comes off at a 90* angle from the back. Once the clip is off, the socket pops out from the front side. HTH

Back to the problem at hand. Is it that you cannot get the electrical plug off the back of the lighter housing or you cannot get the lighter housing out?
Take a pic of where you are at and we will get 'er done!

…how do I remove rear passenger power outlet 2010 mb glk
…I have removed the vent cover (vertically upwards) and the air guides inside - but all attempts at removing the flip console with power outlet have eluded me. Any thoughts/ tips?

Since your going thru all this effort to remove your interior trim, why not send it to OCarbon and have them hand lay real carbon fiber on it, instead of some fake wrap.
I paid $750 a few years go to have mine done, and it outstanding.

cigarette lighter removal, nothing to it
For your more basic models:
For the ML350, GL, etc my research revealed that there is only one man in the world interested in telling others how he did it.

I did a small writeup with some pics for my CLS55, which is probably very similar (if not identical)
