Thank you man. I love the E so much but it really let me down. I just don't know weather to fix it because if it is #8 I either have to buy a new engine for 6500 plus shipping and labor. So like 10K. Thats a lot.

I was thinking more along the lines of 16K.

Diagnose the problem before you get all bent outta shape.
Thanks man. I'm kinda sold already that it is #8. Well see.

rebuild your engine vs buying a used one.In the end you will pay the same amount of money but if you choose to build it up it can make more power down the road.

What is the big deal about posting how much the TTM injectors and fuel rail costs?

Is it some secret?

I can't see their website and I would hope that many people, like myself, that order parts etc. online, a website would serve best.

Can someone please post the cost if the TTM fuel rail and injectors combo?

Whats up guys. After a lot of thinking. I have decided that I will be selling my car. I just don't think I want to spend the money rebuilding or buying a new engine. I would have to spend 10K on all the work. If anyone wants a good project car here is your opportunity.

The car has about 62500 miles.

Mods: 180 ASP Pulley, PLM Headers, PLM Heat Exchnger, CM30, 3 Inch Exhaust. Eurocharged Mufflers, K&Ns, Oe Tune, ASP Idler and tensioner pullies, Star Lowering, 19" Forgestar F14s in Gunmetal, EBC Red Stuff Brake Pads, Vorstiener style rear diffuser. CF front lip, Blacked out grille, LED License plate bulbs

PM me for more info and PRICE

Pics will be up soon!

You're going to basically give it away if you sell it the way it sets. Have the cylinder scoped and just replace the bad piston if the cyl wall looks good. You may not have valve/head damage and get away with a quick fix.

Sorry if any of the above contradicts earlier facts that may have been posted, as I admit I've not read all 10 pages of posts.

Damn bro, that like really sucks! All that work you put into it. I don't think I could let it go so easily, but at least you had fun while it lasted. I might know someone that would pick it up. PM me what you are asking for it and I'll get back to you. And if you could, send me that pic before it's too late.

sorry to hear you think youre gonna sell it FWIW if your not going to repair it before and sell it as a project you should part out the mods (wheels, pulley etc.) to get more $$ back on it.

Can I assume you do are not a shade tree mechanic? I ask because doing the job yourself should save you half those $10K and maybe even more, depending on what's wrong.

Also, you could always part the car.

Selling the car "as-is" makes no sense.....

You'd have to practically give the car away to find someone willing to spend $10,000+ in repairs to get it running again. Otherwise, why would anyone be motivated to even bother. It's easier and smarter to just buy an original, undamaged car than to start off with such an enormous, expensive headache.

Think it through... For what you'll get for this car, you won't be buying anything "awesome" to replace it... Certainly not anything faster or nicer.

It may cost you $10K to get this car running again, but you will surely lose a lot more than that by having a "fire sale" and selling off a broken car.

Take a deep breath, get a professional assessment of the damage and put your plan together from there. It sounds like you are letting your emotions take control of you right now.

Low miles, clean car, for the right price slapping an engine in there is at most a one day job. Someone could flip it and make some easy money.

On that note PM me a price for the car.

If you were in Miami.....
you could stumble upon resources to make that car disappear.

Not that I know of anyone since Im a uptight yuppie living in the Jewish part of town, but I've seen stranger things happen!

Have you at least disconnect the battery? Check the spark plugs? #8 is the very last two on the driver side. It's literally ten minutes job.

Bummer Johncy. :-( Wish you all the best of luck. Id say find a good mechanic capable of fixing it. Just replaced crank position sensor on mine by capable drag mechanic, 100 bucks, plus cost of part. Dealership would've banged me for $115/hour and 3 hours labor. =:-O Im not in that league, neither in the habit of paying full price for anything.

Beware of a 5.5 engine from a S class as it will require additional work to swop the oil pan and pump out of your engine to make it fit the E55 chassis.
