There were hundreds of people that watched the race, I think everyone was impressed, even with the lofty price tag. He didn't use the "launch mode" or whatever it's called on that car. He left soft, and still ran a 10.1 ---- with a passenger in the car. He didn't let the car rest long, he brought it over from the road course over to the drag strip, let it sit for about five minutes, and ran. He didn't even turn the car off.
There's not a doubt in my mind that it's a 9-second car and anyone who was there would confirm that.

Anyone that has any brain power, knew the Veyron was going to kick the GT-Rs butt.
On Top Gear they race the McLaren F1 against it and losed. I would like to see an Formula One car race it.

anyways, on the top gear race, the race was over a mile, not a quarter mile. the Mclaren F1 actually beat the Veyron in the first quarter mile. But once again in that race, the Veyron left soft, no launch control or anything. the Mclaren got a huge jump at the start.

If I had the choice I would still take the Mclaren F1 .. well kind of obvious I guess given the last one sold for over $5m+ - but even besides that its just a rediculously beautful and amazing car.
Whats it now 13 years old? and still taking names.... now thats kudos, but still would not say no to a Veyron. And yes all blacked out thank you.
I heard its the only mega car Leno has not bought... err off that he does have one. And a Zonda R ... ughhhh!

I still think the owner should come back and try a little harder, drop the passenger, whatever, and just ease the baby into the 9's. Otherwise, the car is just another semi-fast car and at a million dollars rather slow and especially for a 16 cylinder car that has four turbos. Heck, maybe it's just a top end beast??
Anyway, still would love to see your brother's video of the race.

They were both slow off the light, I think the GTR was waiting for coffe to be delivered.
Both times were respectable.
"Sanctioned Drag Strip"
Typicly, a passenger is not allowed to run at any NHRA sactioned drag strip at ET's over 11.5
Im supprised they let that happen. Maybe the NHRA guy was in the can

Few things to keep in mind
Car is stock. No race gas, no boost mode, no track set-up, no picking the day the stars and the moon and the universe are all aligned for that one perfect run...nothing. Just drive in, drive out. Try and seriously comprehend that and not bench race.
Car performers like this and is designed to be reliable at these power levels, i.e consistent!!! ... don't even try to compare UGR lambos, or GTR's for that matter. They can run yes, but for how long?
Many examples out there of them going bad. Cars from the customers perspective...not how the correspondent companies show them...
Heck even the McLaren's were not very reliable from what I gathered.
I highly doubt any other car out there that can run these times is a daily driver, with creature comforts and is reliable.
Lets not even go into rolling high speed rolls and top speed
Its a technological marvel and still remains the all time king. Try taking into prospective the full package (German engineering)
