Interlagos Blue Makeover by Impressive Auto
Impressive Auto came through...AGAIN. This time on my brother's W211 E55.
My brother and his girlfriend just had a kid this year so all of his responsibility has been directed to her. He had originally planned to get into an S63 but obviously that wasn't going to happen. Around the same time my car was at Impressive to get a full color change so he began to consider doing it as well. Keep his same car for a few more years but with a new car feeling.
I KNOW EVERYONE LIKES WHITE (so do I)... but every damn W211 is white. Almost every performance car has begun to be purchased in white. Every guy in a sport package rolls up with the same Alabaster White thinking they have the same car. My brother and I have always loved the Interlagos color because of its tendency to look completely different during different times of day and lighting. I don't think this paint gets enough credit for being spectacular which it really is, maybe because its an M stock color. After going through a bunch of different color swatches my brother kept going back to Interlagos. Not only because the color is hot but because there are no Mercedes in bright blue colors. There are no W211s in bright colors.
So after talking to John a few times they decided upon doing the color conversion. After seeing my car roll out of their shop it was basically a no brainer.
After a few weeks the E55 has rolled out looking like a completely different car. It had some cosmetic mods before, which still need to be transferred over. Plus a few new goodies are being added. Here is a list:
- E63 Front Bumper Conversion with PDC
- CF Front Lip
- CF Rear Diffuser
- Lowering Module
- Kleemann Headers
- Pulley Upgrade
- ECU Flash
- Straights after Primary Cats
- DPE R16 (rivetless) in Brushed Finish w/ Polished Lip
- Forgestar F14s
- Yellow powdercoated Calipers
There are a few loose ends, including putting back all the original badging, that still needs to be finished. Once everything is tightened up there will be an actual photoshoot.
John and the guys at Impressive called us over when the car was getting its final polish to take a look at the car and make a quick little video. Pretty cool stuff, they had some crazy equipment and I know John has spent a pretty penny on getting all that setup. HUGE THUMBS UP TO JOHN AND IMPRESSIVE . Unfortunately the sky was really ugly out and so the paint didn't get a chance to shine but cool video nonetheless.
So below are a few pictures of the car before the conversion. Rendering of what we wanted. During. After. And the little video that Impressive put together.

I realize I never made a thread for my 996TT. Atlantis Blue. Here's a pic for reference. Yeah Impressive.

I get you, not everyone is going to like it. I know white is a sexy color, and I loved it in white too. Just trying something different. This is not a shameless plug, and no I'm not being paid a dime. I am extremely happy with their work that I had to pay money for. And so is my brother with his car. If it bugs anyone on here I'm happy to change the thread title.

Did I see this car in Port Chester? I saw a de-badged E55 I think on Xmas eve in a color I never saw before. I thought it was Capri blue but it was too blue to b Capri. I think it looks great, I love blue cars. Get some e63 tail lights and smoke out the red so it doesnt clash with the blue body and yellow calipers.

I like it!!!!!!!! That blue was always my favorite color on any M, always curious what a MB would look like with it. . .Great job. . .I personally say keep the 55 tail lights - I think the 63 tail lights look too much like a camry's. . .just saying. . .

Thanks for all the feedback guys. When the car is all tightened up I'll make sure to post a exhaust video after the photoshoot. Its gonna sound beastly. AMGs with exhaust mods sound like unleashed monsters. My Dinan M5 sounds great but this thing is gonna bite and bark.
Yeah you did! Thanks a lot man. We debated smoking the tails but the red pops so nicely. You've got a black CLS55 that I see in PC once in a while?
Thank you. More than anything it was about having something different. White is really nice though.
Appreciate that
Thanks man. I'm not sure I will let this baby go for a while. Honestly I was getting a little bored with the Turbo until I did the makeover on it. I fell in love with it all over again. I'm doing a few more go-fast mods and then we'll see what happens.
No photoshop. That's a real picture. Photobucket sucks for resizing so that's probably why it looks a little too digital. Thanks a lot.
LOL I said the same thing. I think they will end up being refinished in Gunmetal or a custom Xirallic. Either way its Winter-Mode wheels.
lol
As mentioned above, they will more than likely end up Gunmetal. Thanks!
Standard price is $6-9,000 depending on the car. My 6TT was on the higher end since I had a lot of other stuff painted inside as well.
I know what you mean but I think both look good. We thought about it but my brother preferred the E55 ones in the end.
Dent is a goner! I need to get the front reflectors to seat properly. New ones were put in and for some reason one of them has a tendency to stick out a touch.
When it first came out I definitely thought that but I can appreciate the pre-facelift ones too. He preferred to keep his on, maybe I'll get him a set for his bday or something.
Here's a few more bonus pics of the 996TT. The interior pic was before the car was finished, so don't mind the missing covers lol. It has 997TT Sport seats with painted backs. I gotta find the pics of the painted Tequipment x-rollbar, my favorite new part.

Nice job on the Porsche, but love the backdrop of all of thoavse grave sites !!!
I remember when I lived up in Princeton and had to drive into the City quite a bit how large some of those grave sites are. !!!
I know dupont is coming out with some pretty cool paints so it will be interesting to see how the mfg's react.
Have a great New Year and be careful in those parking garages !!!!
