I kind of went LED crazy, and picked up the strips which will be mounted above the fog lights, and also picked up their license plate LED light kit....
The city lights (smaller set of circular lights on the front) are real easy to do.. You just open the hood and you are able to reach the bulb from the back.. I have yet to change my license plate lights so Im not sure about that install..Originally Posted by chawkins2001
Cylinder Head or Michael, I just picked up those little LED critters off ebay, thanks for the part #, have either of you guys done that install before? What is the process for dismantling the light and installing the LED's? I kind of went LED crazy, and picked up the strips which will be mounted above the fog lights, and also picked up their license plate LED light kit....

the E63 i'm looking at is the P2 package with the xenon lights ipod cord etc. does that mean LSD as well?
Nice car and I agree with you on the DD thing and not having to worry about a blower.Originally Posted by michael kuzni

E63 just drew my attention looks wise and i've read too many nightmare stories about the blowers on the E55's on here. yes i know an e55 can easily be faster. did i mention anything about the 63 being quicker? if by any chance the E63 is sold by the end of the week, i'll be buying a CPO 2006 E55 with 22k miles for about 2k more that's also black on black. E63 is my first choice as far as a DD goes sorry guys.the E63 i'm looking at is the P2 package with the xenon lights ipod cord etc. does that mean LSD as well?
If I want to do some kills, I just in the snake and look in the rear view mirror.
Little 103 and nitous makes alot of cars get small in the rear view mirror FAST.

My running light LED's came with the car. I have license plate LED's but am not a fan of doing the fog light ones.Originally Posted by chawkins2001

Congrats on the purchase. Get that potential air leak checked out ASAP. Did you have a PPI completed prior to taking delivery?

haven't got anything yet. the hour i sell my c55 is the hour i get the e63. i don't think i'll be getting anything checked out before i buy it. i did more than enough research on it and test drove the car. how much is it to replace that airmatic system if it is it? the guy at the dealer straight told me there fine.Originally Posted by Mark.D

Congrats on the purchase btw, although this car doesn't have the amazing mod-ability of the e55, its a definite panty dropper none the less

Mike...I assume you did your due diligence on the 63 and are aware of the class action lawsuit re the engine ? Be sure to listen to the engine at cold start up and that the "mild" valve clatter/ticking goes away quickly. Loud or continuing may be a problem. Much discussion in this forum as well as Youtube vids.

From what I can see in the pics, in that listing, the led is mounted on a rectangular circuit board.Originally Posted by michael kuzni

car got sold the day before i wanted to buy it (had someone coming to look at my C55 and possibly purchase it) it was a big mess and there were no other ones for sale at the time and the 2 week span i had to find one did not some up with any other E63's in my price range. decided to just stop the whole process since i started school again, wait until the summer and save up a few more pennies and i'll have myself either a C63 or E63 but for now, it's on hold until the summer. just enjoying my C55 still until then.Originally Posted by splinter

Michael- nice choice on the black/black color choice. I had long tubes put on and pretty much had everything deleted except for the mufflers and added K&N filters.
As a warning, when I was doing about 70 and would kick it there would be a slight hesitation in the powerband. Had it in the shop for like two weeks and then they actually took my car down to the Mercedes dealership in Atlanta.
They took out the K&N's and replaced them with the stock brand and bam, problem fixed. Seems that with the headers and the K&N, there was (too much air flow) and that is what caused the hesitation.
Never thought K&N's would ever do this, but it is something to be cautious about if you go that route.
Otherwise, I love the car and I am sure you will get back in those twisties back around Tiburon and really let it open up !!!
Enjoy

Stevieg, I've heard nothing but problems with air filters other than stockers. Did you have a tune when you experienced the hesitation?

Hope you wised up and decided on an E55.
Not sure what problems you have heard of the blower on the E55 (clutch engagement noise?) but the HORROR stores on 63 motors internal problems would make me never consider one. Especially with the price tag on repairs for those motors.
