purchasing an 07' E63 in the next week or two. staying in the AMG family
hey guys, as you can see by my post count i am not new to this forum, but i am to the w211 AMG. i'm putting my c55 up for sale tomorrow and purchasing an E63 i already found sometime this week or next week depending on how quick my c55 sells. i found a clean title black on black one owner E63 with 53k miles for $34,900 (i'm going to try and pick it up for $32k) the car is at a local reputable dealership. i will be using this car as a DD and i have been informed that the front brakes have 60% left and the rears have 90%. is there anything i should look for specifically when i physically see the car? i know air ride suspension in the W211's have been an issue (yea i've been lurking this area for a while) so how do i tell if they have gone bad or are going bad? thanks in advance and i can't wait to be a part of the W211 AMG owner's club!
oh and the only mods i plan on doing are long tube headers with eurocharged ecu flash, K&N filters, and maybe change the rims.

too outdated for me andrew! (i mean no offense to other E55 driver's, the E55 is the mercedes that made me love mercedes ever since i first saw one in 03' i just want to get something newer than my car that i can mod and not have to worry about a blower) i just test drove the e63 and boy is it a dream. 507hp never felt so comfortable. the back support sucks though!!! i'll be buying it this week

Too outdated loll. The E55 will walk all over a e63 and with the now available front end conversion kits, that is the dumbest remark I have seen on here in a while.

i'll look at the window sticker and find out. no big deal.
for the mean time, when i got there, the car was sitting pretty low in the back. i started questioning the air ride. then he pressed unlock and the car rose. is that so that there's not pressure in the suspension all the time? it sat pretty low

thanks corey. yea black on black. you know how on our c55's it's a 2 trim interior with black on the lower half then like a beige around the liner and seat belt pillars and stuff? this one is all suede black.
there was a slight jerk from 2nd to 3rd gear under low acceleration (had it in C mode, starts in 2nd like the w203?) but it went away after the car warmed up so i'm not concerned with it. oh and it has LED parking lights. factory or aftermarket?
more pics it had holes in the front bumper from a previous license plate. i'll get them filled in and the front bumper repainted like my c55 because it also had some rash under the front bumper from scraping. not trying to go too crazy though, saving money for if something goes wrong for the next few months. i'm only 20

Not bad buddy.! The parktonic LED's are factory. Not sure if you have service records, and if they did or not, but trans fluid would be past due for a flush if it hasn't been yet. Enjoy.!!

Those little LED's are one of my favorite things about my car. That, and how it sounds with the resonators deleted.
Every time I hit the fun pedal my girl shrieks and starts giving me crap about "you're going to kill us both".

Should have went with a late model 55 and done a bumper conversion.
Nice find however.
BTW are you like on a first name basis with everyone on MBWorld? Or you have everyone memorized from Facebook?

i want to do long tube headers so it should sound even meaner with those. it wasn't as loud as my c55 on the inside when i drove it, but i'm sure it was much different on the outside. i wasn't paying too much attention to that, more concerned about making sure everything works and sounds fine before i purchase a non-warranty vehicle.

Cylinder Head or Michael, I just picked up those little LED critters off ebay, thanks for the part #, have either of you guys done that install before? What is the process for dismantling the light and installing the LED's?
I kind of went LED crazy, and picked up the strips which will be mounted above the fog lights, and also picked up their license plate LED light kit....
