Electronic shift kit
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
It would be nice to get an update on what you've been up to. Everything looked like it was moving along pretty well before you went "dark" on us here.

Let's all be careful around here....
If this starts to smell like an actual "product" being promoted, the IB overlords will lock this whole thread down in a heartbeat.
Let's stay focused on the "tech" and avoid discussions about pricing and availability (and group buys)

First, I would like to say I'm not a sponsor or vendor here. Therefore, I cannot make and sell any product on MBworld. Also, obviously I have a full time job and family(first baby boy due in less than a month!) so this project has been done on spare time. This has taken way, way longer than I ever imagined when the project started.
The system that was created required myself as the R&D guy, and the "code"guy that lives across the country from me. We made the system work from steering wheel buttons, integrated into the interior, and engine CAN bus systems. It is also really nice as you can adjust shift firmness individually from gear to gear. Things were looking great, but there were still some bugs in the system that I was not comfortable with until I knew it was 100%.
Here comes the bummer. My friend took a job in Tengiz, yes google that. From this 3rd world country, we could no longer work on the shift kit. He took the job as a boost to his income before he retires. Cant blame the man.
So, I thought maybe I should totally ditch this project, and restart with a much simplier system, kind of like a dial to adjust firmness. Well that hasnt started yet. While the shift kit system is still installed in my car, I just dont really use it anymore.
I know this is probably a really big let down. Maybe when he gets back to the good old USA we can resume, but until then I just dont see it happening.
I truly apologise for the build up and now let down. I didnt think it would happen like this.
It makes me sad the more I think about it.
Ok time to drink a beer and get over it......
Cheers,
Manar
So I have to ask: is zautotech.com able to somehow pick up where your friend left off with the programming? Would they even be interested?
2nd question: does this kit (or the Chrysler version) have the ability to do the "blip downshift" thing that the newer AMGs do....?
It seems like you guys have it really close to completion..... It would be a shame to quit so close to the finish line.

talk to some vendors on the forum to see if they will give you something for bringing it to the point you may be at, and they can carry it from there.

this project has not and will not die.
