That grill looks horrible. It's only second worst if you consider a billet grill on the car. That's just my opinion, of course. To each his own.

before and after chrome to painted grille-wheels-powder.jpg

same wheels as in first pic, just powdercoated the silver part flat black and left the gun metal alone. i like them but i might change my mind when they are on the car, they were cheap wheels so if i wrecked them.. f-it!

It's a 55 but that's definitely a 63 bumper. . .

OP

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-E-E...ht_6762wt_1348

Bought one and the paint really isn't that bad - the body shop has it now and even the paint guy is leaving it alone and just adding an extra layer of clear. I personal like it better than the OEM one because it doesn't have the MB badge but I have no idea of the fitment or how it will stand up to chips but for the money. . .

Not feeling it. I think painting or dipping the stock grill black is the way to go. Front end looks "too busy" with the double star. To each his own, though. If it floats your boat, stick with it Bro!!

2012 CLS63

I just went back to a painted black stock grill on my 550,
I had the two star thing going on too, but Mickey helped to hide that
fact a bit.....might not work for you though
it doesn't look that bad........
but if you like it, then it's done

Definitely too busy, I love the hood star, it's a Mercedes classic to be there but the grill star you should get rid of ASAP.

LOL

Get the stock e63 grille painted the same color code as your car at a paint shop so it lasts and looks good.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Flat hood star for sure. I wish they had a grill with a smaller star on it, that would fit better IMO. Not bad IMO.

My feeling is that the front end if black should be more stealth and to do that you have to keep it clean and simple. Way too much going on with the front end. You want the front to really blend in with the rest of the car and not create too much attention. Blacking out is the best way, but I would look at some of the other posters on the forum and just get some other ideas after seeing their fronts. Good Luck with your project.
