Is there some way we could adjust the flow on a bigger pump ? Add a valve to restrict it more just to test this theory ? A lot of variables at play here IMO. The amount of boost/heat being produced could be a big factor. Some setups may need more flow and others less. Our IC cores are so small and restrictive. Its now like you are really going from 6-7 gal per min to 20 gal between these two pumps. The actual flow going through the system is probably much closer than people think. If water goes too slow it will also adversly affect your ability to cool the water.

Also I think it would make a lot more difference with a heat exchanger if the water goes too fast since it needs enough time in it to actually cool the water down. In a system like mine with no HE to cool the water a little faster than stock may be better.
Would still love to play with it some more and do data logging both ways.

you guys can always buy the higher flowing pump for the trunk tank and put a valve on it to get the right amount of flow. I see people putting different pumps and worry about water going to fast through the core. Its a pretty easy solution something like this

you can romp it watch IAT's climb. close valve a little check IAT's again and see if they get better or worse. If it gets better, close the valve some more till you find the sweet spot
