E63 X and straight pipe
Okay, so I have read all of the x pipe and straight pipe threads and listened to all of the clips from you tube and need the opinions of the members that have done or have heard in person an E63 with the following mods. I will be chopping my exhaust and have 2 options.
Option 1: Secondary cat delete with mangnaflow X pipe and resonator delete with straight pipes.
Option 2: only resonator delete with straight pipes.
My questions:
1. If I do option 1 will I lose the “AMG bark” (gargle sound)?
2. Which option is louder?
3. Why do the X pipe, just scavenging?
4. Does it matter if the X pipe takes the place of the secondary cats and straight pipes in place of the resonator, OR if the X pipe takes the place of the resonator and straight pipes in place secondary cats?

I have the "option 2" set up, and IMO it sounds PERFECT and ON POINT.
i still haven't decided whether to delete my secondary cats or not
i know you said you have seen all the videos lol, but heres a vid of my car when i first deleted the resonator and replace with just straight pipes

i did 2ndry cat delete with 3 inch pipe to the resonators and it sounded great on the gas no drone but at WOT it was sick . PM Bruce from TTM he has some vids of some 63 systems he has done .
option one you will get drone and it will be loud for sure . more like a stang IMO .
option one will be loudest for sure
the x pipe over straight pipes and the scavanging thing barely make a diffrence HP wise .

I have no drone, and I took out both my Resonator and Secondary Cats. Only the bark and growl when you give it gas. But you can barely hear anything at all when your cruising on the freeway, but just give it a bit of gas for passing and it comes a live, its perfect.

I also did option 2 (resonator delete with 3" straight pipes) and was back at the exhaust shop within 24 hours to put the resonator back on. I felt that it lost the AMG tone and sounded too much like a Chevy truck..

Well by doing that you'd be getting rid of the squiggly h-pipe just before the secondaries, which from what I gather is what gives it a more muscle car sound, but not sure if it would be louder... I'd like to hear it tho..

I'm thinking of doing the same, but can't make my mind up either. I like the stock sound, but just want it a bit louder when giving it some gas, but no drone when normal driving.
Has anyone got any more video links with secondary cats replace by x pipe, and just straight pipes with resonator still there. Also secondary cats n place with resonator replaced with x pipe?
Thanks

Just as important as the sound, I would love to know the hp differences between the 4 different set ups listed on this thread? I am guessing prob slim to none? (~ 10 hp) Give or take

I'm not too fussed by the horse power difference, but it would be interesting to know if there are differences between them.
