Looking at an 06 E55. What do i need to know?
I've had my C32 for 3 years now with no issues whatsoever and i've always wanted an E55 and i'm about to make my dreams come true but i'm pretty clueless when it comes to them. What should i be aware of? What should i be looking for? Right now i've negotiated her down to 21,999 with 68K miles. Good or bad price? Thanks guys. Appreciate it
Also are their warranty company's that offer extended warranty's for AMG cars?

do a search on 'extended warranty' and you'll find lots of info here - you'll want to get the best one available... plan on spending anywhere from $2-7K on the warranty

Yeah, if you are picking up a 06 E55 for 22K, I'd be wary of it being a salvage title with prior damage. I would get carfax and autocheck reports on the vehicle and if they show all clear, take it to a qualified mechanic for complete inspection. Just be sure you are covering your azz. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Since you are buying from dealership, ask them to show what warranties they have available. Be sure it has no limits as repairs on these cars can get very pricey.

That E55 basically has nothing in it...I checked that one out on Saturday. Wasn't all that really. Dleaership was set on 24k.

2006 E55 Amg
Been swamped at work and havent had a chance to check this thread out since i posted the other day. Friend of mine is a sales manager down for Knopf Automotive and he is the one who located me the E55. White/Black is pretty much all i know as i havent had a chance to see it in person yet. It should be at the dealership by the weekend. Coming from California. He says its fully loaded but i'm not sure what a "Fully Loaded" E55 comes with.

Fully loaded explains an E55 with no options - in typical dealer terms.
Options to look for:
1) Panoramic roof (some like...some don't...I don't have it and think I would have liked it)
2) Parktronic & Distronic
3) Keyless Start
4) Phone read (look in the arm rest console)
5) iPod integration (not just an aux jack)
That's really pretty much it.
$22K sounds suspiciously low. I moved from a C32 a few years ago as well (like 2 1/2) and snagged an '06 with 37000 miles on it for $32500 at auction coming off an MB lease.

Add some options:
- Rear sun-shade
- Dynamic Seat
- Heat/seat
- Cool/seat

You're a much better bargainer than I, if the car is in good shape.
Exactly a year ago I paid $35k for a CPO '06 w/58K, including a second year of warranty just out of fear and/or peace of mind.
Keyless, dynamic heated/cooled seats, but no pano-roof and the bluetooth dongle cost me about $150.
Still bone-stock, and very pleased with my purchase / mid-life crisis!

Even more options:
- Bi-Xenon (look for headlight washers *and* make sure they work)
- Sirius Satellite Radio
- NAV! (saw one w/o it)
- Rear Side Passenger shades (which mine has)
Paid $31.5k 8 months ago for an '05 w/44k -- everything except park/distronic, cooled seats, and bluetooth / sirius. added BT with voice command stalk, plus Sirius later on.

Apparently there is one on Autotrader that has NOTHING in it, no navi, no heated seats, no DYNAMIC seats.....I am really thinking the seller has a E500 and selling it off as an E55.
