Nope I have never gone a Wednesday because I heard its crowded. I always go on Saturday test n tune days, yes it's more expensive but you can get in a ton of runs as there are only 20-30 cars if that. I have close to 100 passes in my car over the past 4+ years at Sac. My best 60' on 275/30/19 Nitto 555 was 1.81 which led to a 12.07

I like wednesday night drags in sac because its very fast pace and you get many runs in, but I just hate how its impossible to get traction. Have fun! I will be up there this saturday for test and tune, won't be taking my car though.

Sac Raceway Wednesdays haven't been too busy for the past couple years. However, since this is the first Wednesday of the new year, all the people who got Civics for Xmas will be out there to try em out.
I've gone to Sac Raceway plenty of times. Quick rundown of events and procedures to help you out:
1. Tell them at the admission gate you are racing and pay your $15, sometimes they have you get out of car and pay at trailer, sometimes at the booth of the gate. Just watch others to find out what's going on.
2. Tech inspection. Go to front of lanes 1 or 2 or as far as you can if there are already others in it. If others are there, you will see hoods opened up. Turn off car, open hood, fill out the yellow tech card they gave you from admission booth. Tech will look over your car and take your yellow tech slip. He will also verify you have a SNELL approved helmet since your car is faster than 14 seconds. Tech will mark your front windshield and front passenger window with a number. And tell you to go ahead and make a run.
3. Continue pulling up to front of lane 1 or 2. The flagger will tell you what side to goto. Make sure your windows are all up and helmet is on.
4. Go around the waterbox (it's just an indented area that holds water) which is notated by a orange road cone. Stay out of the water. It will kill your traction and **** everyone off because you'll drag water into the staging lane if you touch the water in street tires.
5. Pull up close to the light tree and you will see yellow light light up. Once you see both yellows, you are staged and the tree should start shortly after.
6. This is where you practice your launches to find out what works best for you. Only practice will truly give you a feel of what to do.
7. After you make the full run, be sure the person in the right lane exits off on to one of the three exit lanes first. If you are in right lane, you have right of way. Drive down the exit lane at no more than 25MPH. You will see a white with blue trim booth on the left that everyone will stop at. This is where you pick up your timeslip.
8. Take note of the number that was written on your windshield and passenger window. The first number is the lane number you are to return to. Note that once eliminations have started, if you lose a race, you do not return to your lane number, but instead to lane 1 or 2 for as many 'fun runs' as you want.
9. During warm ups and if you win during eliminations, go to your lane indicated by the first number written on your windshield and passenger window.
10. Just prior to eliminations start, they will come by and ask for your time. Use the time slips to get an idea of what you have been running. Then tell them the time you want set and they will write it on your car. This is your dial in time.
11. While in elimination runs, the person closest to their dial in time without going faster than their dial in time for each run wins. Also, the light tree will stagger the launches for both lanes to offset the dial in times.
Overall, just have fun! The first time out is always a nervous and exciting thing for most people. And don't worry about not running low 12s on your stock car, it's not gonna happen there on a Wednesday night. I had plenty of 13 second runs thanks to horrid launches from the lack of track prep. I took my E55 out for the first time on the last Wednesday of last year and ran a best of 12.791@109.529. Also, ran my worst time of 16.500@75.33 that night when the heat exchanger pump died. Needless to say that was my last run of the night.

Well, talked to some friends who know people at the track, and it sounds like they might not open it tonight because of rain....
Might have to wait till next week.

You lucky SOB, goodluck and launch off idle brotha. On the last yellow, put your foot threw the floor board, and try to keep her straight coming out the hole.... Make sure your traction control is switched off too!

Turning traction control off at Sac Raceway on Wednesday night fun runs and flooring it only does one thing and that's to have you face the guard rails. Tried it several times, and while fun to go sideways, it does nothing good for your times. There is literally no track prep on Wednesday nights.

Well, sounds like I am in for a treat then!
Sounds like a friend with a W203 C55 is trying to make it out, and another person with a W211 E55. Might be 2 E46 M3s and an E39 M5 out there too!
Also lined up a C5 ZO6 and C6 ZO6 to come out and run tonight. Hoping to have some fun with them too!

Ok, definitely doing that again.
Had an awesome time out there. Track prep was definitely absolute crap, but had fun out there. Surprised quite a few people.
First run was a 13.1 at 106. Went downhill from there, started heat soaking like a mother. :/
Definitely doing the upgraded heat exchanger and headig back out next week!

There is nothing wrong with his HE pump. Seriously, those of you who have not been out to Sac Raceway on Wednesdays have no idea how bad it is. It's not the car, it's the lack of traction! If you are looking for good times, you have to go on Saturday Morning Test & Tunes. That's when the really high powered vehicles are brought out and the launch area is fully done up. They do Grudge Fest on Saturday nights after Test and Tune and usually for a little while the prep work that was left helps out.
Justin, that was a decent time for your first time out on a Wednesday. Hopezfully I can make it out next week for some fun.

The 60' time on the 13.1 run was 2.2 seconds.
My response time was pretty terrible as well... .8 seconds!
Got in 3 additional runs, and will post those slips as well. Will also post the 2 videos when the phone gets charged.

unload the passenger and the trunk - that'll save you 2-4 tenths

BTW - My configuration for the 13.1 was with a friend riding shotgun, two floor jacks in the trunk, half a tank of gas, full size spare tire, giant Gatorade, 2 heated seats on, defroster on, my work backpack in the back seat, and spun them at the launch. Combined with the poor track prep, I think it was a good run! Basically went to the track straight from work... Didnt unload any of the map pockets, center console, etc.
My E55 weighed in at 5k lbs for these runs.... lol!

Justin, ignore the lame haters. They don't seem to understand it's for fun. I've taken several cars out there from the 12s to the 15s. It's still all fun.
