One of thet fastest and easiest way of obtaining this, is from your dealer. And alternative would be to contact MBUSA, they can provide you this information.

Thanks, maybe a silly question then, as i have seen cars that have a build date of 2008 but are quoted as a 2009 car. ... Again apologies for probably being dumb, first AMG car for me, but where is the break between 2008 build cars that are quoted as 2008 or 2009 ? Is it based on when in 2008 it was built ?

This may be valid for smaller options to be added on a 08 car but not for major facelift options, if it was built in 08 and quoted for 09 it will have it, if it was built 08 and quoted for 08 it's not gonna have it, does your radio have the sd slot above the screen? For me if I'm on the street walking around and see a facelift w211 07-09 the only way to tell if it's 09 I always look at the radio to see if it has the sd card slot, this is the only thing that separated 07-08 from 09.
Also another example would be the 14 e class with the facelift nose, while they were built in 13 they were all quoted as 14, you will never see a facelift e class quoted as 13, I hope it makes sense. Mercedes only does this with major facelift options like breakthrough technology that they strictly want to introduce for a certain year.

There are VIN decoders out there but for something this new, it's usually not in their database like this site:

Either some kind soul with EPC access will post it or you can get an EPC-net subscription which costs around $75 a year and you can get the data card for any MB car. Also handy for looking up specific part numbers for a car.

Look in the top section of the build sheet, on the right side about 5 lines down, it lists the full VIN matching what's on your label.

So it's not likely you have the P030 nor a LSD. But maybe you do have an aftermarket LSD...
