What is current thinking on best supercharger belt?
Hey guys, did a search but most of the posts are really old and with all the new stuff going on lately in regards to pulleys I wanted to lend an ear to what you all think is the best supercharger belt option for us right now? Gates? Dayco? Jaguar? Let's hear what you guys are running and if you could provide part numbers I would appreciate it, I am going to put a new one on as mine is almost 3 years old
. Stock pulleys everywhere right now so keep that in mind when giving part numbers ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

try this thread...
DIY - Serpentine Belt Replacement
I agree, there are hundreds of threads about this, most say 'get a gates, or goodyear' but you rarely see part #'s...
take a lot of reading....

Search on the 113k tech forum;replace both belts, etc.
You have two belts on the 55K engine. If one fails at speed it will probably take out the other.
Replace both belts with OEM MB. Also replace the platic belt tensioners on each belt, they are cheap and inexpensive. They are a failure point. Put the old pulleys and belts in your trunk spares box in case you need an emergency repair. Spin all the other pulleys. If they make a squeaky noise replace them, lube them if not sealed and put in spares box. Before you replace the belts take a photo of the layout and look at the belt picture in your OM. it will make threading easier.
When you have both belts off It might be timely to change your supercharger oil! Search for these links.
Make sure you observe torque settings.

Make sure you have your VIN handy.

You runing a stock pulley or something bigger? See all the info you need here. Gates belts just add HD after the part number for the heavy duty belts,

I replaced my OEM supercharger belt with the recommendation for the 51" gates belt in that thread, and am happy. My car is all OEM under the hood.

when i used to datalog and dyno a lot, it seemed to maintain boost without slippage better than the others. i can't remember part numbers but if you got that from a search here it should be correct.
