The tuning I can understand as they have to crack the Mercedes coding and figure things out and they will sell less tunes.
Where I think the RAPPPEEE!!! is is in some of the exhaust components. $2500-6500 for headers?
Couple grand for an X pipe setup.

sure, some call it art - but you can't see it under all that engine (but you sure can hear it!)
Toadster how r u going to mod or any of u for that matter doesn't it void the warranty?
You can get a tune for $500 or so (at least from Eurocharged).
I don't think the $500 charge includes both ECU and TCU though - correct?

the EFI-Live guys fly all around the country for 20-person meets - pre paid and get a butt-in-the-seat tune on the road for < $500 including ECU and Tranny
he even tuned his Corvette Hertz Rental

Congrats on finallly snagging one!
Heads up that the Nav is from the stone ages. Most smart phones are better but other than that, make sure Sat is working and listen to Stern 100 all the way down.
Not sure what size guy you are but for long drives I just let all the air out of the bottom seat cushion or my butt hurts. Its the bottom switch...press it down to deflate. I am linebacker built so big butt though.

If the ECU on these was anything like the ECU's in the Chryslers (Daimler Chrysler?) of the era they were pretty hard to crack for quite some time. Couple years before someone was able to actually tune the Hemi's after they came out from what I remember. I suspect this maybe had something to do with the technology Chrysler was pillaging from Mercedes at the time.
