picking up the E55 this weekend - Seattle to Sacramento - travel ideas?
So with MUCH labor over the past two months on this forum, I'm FINALLY getting my E55 this weekend in Seattle

Has anyone driven the I-5 route from Seattle to Sac? Google says 12 hours
Picking up my warranty paperwork in Seattle and getting the valve cover gaskets repaired, then gonna drive about 3-4 hours south and pick up a new set of tires (275 rears) in Tigard,OR (no sales tax), spend the night in Oregon and then drive it home to Sacramento.
Although some sections along the route are calling for light snow around the Oregon/CA border Friday/Saturday, but should be in the evenings as the daytime shows 40-50 degree temps. I haven't driven the stretch of I-5 between Yreka and Portland - been on 101 up the coast and up 97 to Bend.
If all else fails, maybe we'll saunter off to 101 down the coast again...
Any sights to see? or places to stop by on the way?

Good luck on the trip Toadster. It's a long trip, but you'll enjoy it. Take your time and be safe out there, especially in icy conditions. We don't want to see a post titled 'Had an E55 for a day, now looking for a replacement'.
I look forward to seeing it in person after you get back!

we'll get there at 8:30 - and the owner is picking us up - we'll knock out the paperwork and go up to Lynnwood to do the warranty stuff... probably there for the next 3 hours or so till the valve cover gaskets get replaced. Then headed out sometime in the early afternoon.
the owner is actually in Bellevue so we're pretty close to you

thanks - it's been a while since I've done the ice road thing... grew up on the east coast learning how to power-slide through intersections in my Mustang with 100-200lbs of sand in the trunk...

So, it is looking like there will be somewhere between 8-10 55k's here in Sacramento now.
With all of this nice weather, we should all G2G and check out each others rides!
