For those who say their intercooler pumps aren't always on.

Mine is. My intercooler pump is running on the stock circuit and with me putting the key in position 2 the pump will begin to flow. You can even hear the slight hum coming from the pump. Turn on the car and it's still flowing. Mine is 05 so I don't know the rest of the years but it seems to me that it would be useless to bypass the pump circuit.

I thought some cars were always on and I dont even think the years matter anymore.Mine wont run all the time and my mechanics old 04 ran all the time.

It could be temp related also so who knows,I can tell when mine runs since I wired the pump to the fog light so I could manually turn it on when I wanted and when the car does its thing one of my fog lights turn on and I can 100% tell you my car does not run all the time.

Think I read somewhere once the engine hits 2000 rpm the pump kicks on and stays on. Either way, mine also seems to be on all of time.

In my case, just by switching the key it's on...

Are you sure it's the ic pump? Or the electric water pump for your heater.

I unplugged the auxiliary pump to see if it was that pump and the hum would still be there so I opened the nipple to bleed the intercooler and just by putting the key in pos. 2 it would start flowing water. I also checked with my multimeter to make sure it would stay on at all times, and it does.

check it if runs when you turn the key in position 2 after the car has been sitting overnight and report back

Checked it today again to make sure. Pump runs as soon as I put the key in pos. 2. You can hear it hum and I placed my hand on it and it was vibrating ( I currently have my bumper cover off ).

I thought it would turn on when the supercharger turns on because the IAT's would go down very quickly when the SC clutch engages but I guess it has more to do with the airflow change and perhaps the bypass valve opens further with the SC engaged in low rpms.

This is a good finding though because this means that I can have my key in pos. 2 with the car off and it'll circulate water....hmmmm...

Check to see if the pump is running after sitting all night in a totally dark room with a frozen chicken in the corner thawing, while dealing pinnochle to 3 lesbians a donkey and a duck and report back.

Not sure what to make of this.

I just replaced my pump and when to bleed the system.

Placed a hose on the bleed nipple and ran the other end into the expansion tank. My plan was to let things run for a while and let it purge the air out. My other vehicles with water to air systems take a good while of venting to get all the air out of the system. Seemed like a good plan, but.

When I take the cap off of the port, water flows out, but when I put the hose on, water never comes out the other end unless I lower it below the port level. It would seem that the pump is not running all the time or water would be flowing out of the end of the hose and back into the expansion tank.

This AMG system is a bit more complex than other systems.

No chicken in the corner thawing=no IC Pump flow. Believe it.

You have to clamp the rubber hose below the bleed nipple for the water to flow out with pressure. Did you clamp the hose?

Nope. Did not clamp it.

Can do it.

How do you get the pump to activate during the purging?

Do the lesbians need to do anything specific with the donkey and the duck?

This is strange, as the WIS instructions state after replacing the pump, to activate it via SDS, and bleed. I did rewire mine (04) as I couldnt hear it running with just key on.....??

No, however I have heard that if the girls include the donkey in the shenanigans your pump will have a Kenne Bell BAP effect take hold of it and it will have much greater power. This is an unconfirmed report though. The duck is merely garnish.

Maybe it depends on the year.
