Can someone post a vid of this big delay in the shift? My car does not do this, infact I think the 1-2 shift takes longer than the 2-3 shift(trans controller not active)

On a side note, I can see how resetting the adaptation before running would negatively affect the shift, because now the TCU does not know filling times/pressures for the different brakes/clutches.

I HAVE GOOD NEWS!

As some of you've seen I did a little a little work on my car this past weekend so I know I need to have Jerry reflash the ECU to account for the long tube headers and the bigger 550cc injectors.

When I read this post yesterday I was glad it wasn't only me that had this issue but also knew Jerry was working on a fix already.

So I managed to get to out after lunch today to have Jerry flash the car with an update to the new goodies but with a possible fix to the PAUSE between 2-3 when at WOT.

GOOD NEWS after driving back to the office and home this evening I can say that Jerry has found the solution!!!!

I just wished I'd had my GoPro with me tonight. I did try with my $h1tty Blackberry but will get a video hopefully tomorrow.

U have an ECU tune from them? Updates are free if you do. If not just give the boys a call.

Ahhh...so you were the other person he was talking about that was testing the flash. Do you think it went away 100% or like me that it went away maybe 90% but it still has a slight HINT of the pause still there ( which is fine by me ).

I had the issue with 1-2 and 2-3 ONLY at WOT and now the shifts at WOT are very quick. I don't think that the shift times could be any quicker without a shift kit. I tried to video it but never got a full clean run when I could video. I will mount the GoPro tomorrow and try to capture some runs.

Here are some videos guys. It's really hard to perceive in the video but in the BEFORE video you can HEAR how there is a pause ( more like a silence in the engine ) in the 2-3 shift and in the AFTER video there is barely a perceivable pause.

Here's my video of 1-2 shift after the fix.

http://s1138.photobucket.com/albums/...t=1-2shift.mp4

In the 2-3 shift I had to lift due to traffic so it's not really a good sample.

Subrscribed.

Keep us posted on the longevity too if you will. I am wondering too if it is something deeper like clutch packs. That 1-2 shift looks hot though Grant.

Regards

If my car will shift like that i'll be alot faster. There is a video of one of my runs in the MIR pic/video thread and you can hear how bad it was. I actually had to let off and hit the gas again to make the shift a couple of times. Go to the 4:50 mark and listen to the shifts.

Jerry has found some things in the ecu that should help these issues...

(having full access to the ecu is always nice!)

Like what was already posted, it seems to be a problem that was happening with different tuners, so we aren't going to share what was done at this time, im sure you all understand. Just rest assured we are on top of things as usual and all our customers will be taken care of if the fix is needed! There is a reason you went with us, FREE reflashes!!!

Steve

Thats exactlly how mine used to behave. After driving the car 3 times now since Jerry updated the ECU that hesitation is gone!

With faster shifts and no loss of power you'll be at the 10.5 mark

one car at a time
Do you feel there are risks to the transmissions by increasing the shift speeds or just the opposite, that a quick shift is actually better for the transmission? I believe the general consensus is the longer shifts are designed for comfort, but wear clutch packs more. So if correct, that would mean the TCU update is a win-win - faster and better longevity ...Thoughts ?

I'm starting to roll the fix out to everyone who has reported the issue to us. All EC customers with an ECU tune from us will be fixed at no charge. If you have an ECU tune from another company, call the shop so we can discuss options.

I'm glad we figured it out so quickly! The way the ECU / TCU handles torque during a shift is wild.

TCU sent yesterday (overnight) and car will be on dyno Friday. I'll call you tomorrow.

I can honestly say this IS the best the cars ever felt! It pulls hard and the transition between gears so very smooth now.

Can this be fixed with a flash loader?
