I have swaped instrument cluster A2115406048 in my car (2007 E-Class 220CDI 170HP), with instrument cluster A2115400347 from older model. Info regarding km is synchronized, but some features are not (runflat indicator, gps, tank size and so on). Also, reports malfunction about non-existent device.
I still have the old cluster, but is doesn't turn on. So. how i can solved this? What can i do and how? Is it posible to do a software upgrade with newest version which support my car model?
Just for let you guys know this post saved my life! lol...
I did retrofit the cluster of my CLK 350 W209 from the standard black to the silver with white gauges then the odometer showed ------ so I did swap the "brains" like Nealgobert said and voila! We are back again with OEM mileage and features. No soldering No complications just swap the circuits. (the one with the connector)

I have a 2005 E500 4matic all the fuses are good I do have an mb2 for my car so I have the correct scanner it tells me that my cluster is dead so I can switch the brain out from the new one I got and put it in the old body and it should work correct

I have a 2005 E500 4matic all the fuses are good I do have an mb2 for my car so I have the correct scanner. it tells me that my cluster is dead so I can switch the brain out out of my old instrument panel and put it in my new one and it should work correct? I would appreciate any help I could get thank you the reason why I asked is because.it doesn't seem like the brain itself would go bad it would be the part where it plugs in or some other electrical components that provide the electrical current went bad most likely but I could not picture the brain going bad the odds of that happening versus the other are probably slim.
