The complete lack of maturity displayed on the AMG forums is mind numbing. A kindergarten demographic.

I think you have that reversed my friend. That is with how cheap these cars have become, it has allowed a different demigod of owner to obtain one.

I just don’t understand why people don’t ignore the post or thread if it is of no interest. The majority of the time, it takes more effort to ***** about doing a search as it does to answer a question. I am new here but not new to Mercs and other German sleds. What is with all the picking sides and instigating aggression? I have been working motors and doing mods for 35 years. Isn’t our common passion for cars; namely AMGs’ supposed to create a community?
I am not critiquing anyone, it is just a bit sad that this stuff takes up so much space and time.

Damn right too! In SA & other countries where a CLK like mine cost over $100,000 new & maintains value & fuel is twice the US price most of these upstarts would be driving a Corolla.

We are all doing well and the car is ready for a few things in the spring.
Long tubes, new fuel rail, TB, and tune. She sits most of the winter.
Any luck with the Denali?

I ended up second guessing myself (again) and decided (again) to keep the e63. Didnt like the trade numbers offered by GMC for the car in its pristine condition. Why take a hit to let go of such a great car? And honestly, I also started looking at where the price of gas was heading, and dont feel like buying a $65k truck getting 12 mpg when gas hits $5/gal this summer. Might buy a used POS SUV to keep wear and tear off the e63.

PS - Like your car needs any more mods....or to go any faster?

It's 60% of why I sold my AMG Mercedes (and then there's all those embarrassing baller idiots out there in their blinged out Mercedes which doesn't help the brand's image either.)

And it's 100% of why I ended up leaving this forum altogether.

So you sold your Mercedes because of how people act on a forum. Well it's 60% of the reason you say. That is strange. It's a very small sample of the entire MB owners population don't you think?

Yeah, you're right. It was really just a comment to drive the point home. That's why I said '60%.' Probably more like 10%, lol. Bottom line was that it wasn't that exciting to drive except in a straight line. But it was a nice car overall.

You do have to admit that Mercedes attracts people who seem to be more interested in the status of the brand over the history and performance of these cars. That's unfortunate. The bling/baller/rapper aspect is pretty ridiculous. And what somebody drives doesn't always correlate with their assets or the amount of money they have in the bank. But a lot of owners hope it makes others think so. Just look at some of the threads on MBWorld.....(but of course it's not everybody.)

I bought my E55K not because of "Status" or "Image" I just love the way its. I don't know what else can satisfy me to compare the 06 E55. ( of course, in the same price range) The performance maybe only good in straight but why would i want a car that can turn extreme sharp like M cars. I am not a car racer, i occasionally enjoy some speed but not crazy driver.

Like I mentioned, not everybody is that way. But then we get a lot of threads about money and "I own a Mercedes" blah, blah. As I said it's unfortunate since there's so much more to the brand than the juvenile status thing.

There are tons of back canyon roads with very little traffic where I live. So for me a car that can really handle well is of more interest. No, I'm not a 'car racer' but I do like driving the twisties a lot. You don't have to drive fast to get satisfaction. And unfortunately there are too many cops on the freeways which is where the E Class AMG really shines. It's a great autobahn comfort cruiser. Good choice for a comfortable sedan.
