You need one of these for a 3G/GS or 4/S phone or iPod Touch to charge the phone while plugged in. http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CGkQ8wIwAg#

You should be able to get a factory inline amplifier from the dealer that works with the kit. Makes a HUGE difference in volume. Think it cost around $50 but not certain. Best to get it before you do the install so you don't have to dig back into the car again.
The sound quality is MUCH better than the aux in.
abhatti55 did my install for me and sure he will be glad to give you some tips if needed. We put mine in the center console and I just leave the ipod in there connected and only take it out to add more music.
Hope this helps.

Does A204 870 39 94 sound like the right part number for the amp?

Yeah I posted this on the second page. Think it costs around $50-60. Can't remember specifically. Also, it should sound better if it's NOT on the highest setting. At least mine did.

Bumping this thread for a newbie question, thanks in advance:
Does anyone have a pdf or set of instructions for how the steering wheel navigation works within the iPhone, Pandora, etc? Just go my car and haven't had the chance to invest the time to figure it out. Much appreciated, jf

Yes
Apparently not well enough?
Edit: I'm no stranger to forums--actually admin a few--but despite a number of searches have found many threads, no instructions. I would be grateful for a link. Thanks!

Ipod Engine Noise
I need help eliminating engine noise on the ipod kit. I only hear this interference when I depress the accelerator, and it only happens with the ipod not when playing the radio or cds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
