iPod Integration Kit
I'm probably the last one to the party, but I had my dealer install the iPod integration kit in my '05 earlier this week. All I can say is I have no frickin' idea why I waited so long to get this mod installed! Albums, songs, and playlists all show up on the dash display and all of my favorite music is now easily availabe to me in the car. And it sounds great.
For anyone who spends some serious commuting time like I do, and is sitting on the fence about whether this mod is worthwhile, all I can say is do it; you won't regret it.

I DIY'ed my Renntech lowering module, but was hesitant about tackling this one since I have a known history of breaking interior trim pieces.

Dealership charged me 3.5 hours labor for the install. Probably would have taken me 5 or 6. $99 is the current list price for the kit, plus with later model Apple iPhone and iPods, you also need the little charging adapter link. I'm running my 4S with it and it works perfectly. I got 25% off on the parts from one of the online parts places.

The standard location for the connector is the glove box. You can actually buy a craddle to protect it in the glove box and stop it sliding around. I have seen a few terminate it in the center console.
The iPOD coonector takes over the AUX input and menus on the iPOD can be controlled from the steering wheel buttons

If you have on older generation iPOD you'll have no problem with charging while connected but iPOD Touch or iPhones need the Sosche connector shown in the thread above.

The istall could be be by a competent radio installer. There is a connection that has to be made in the trunk area to the MOST loop but besides that it just routing wires and firber cable to the fron glove box area. The thing that took me the longest was getting the cables routed bown the passenger kicj panels. It really is an easy DIY but it just takes time.
