keyless go button gone bad
About 2 weeks ago my keyless go button to start went dead and after following the step by step i found on mbworld i found out that the wire that typically separates down in the gear selector was in tact.
By accident as I had the car apart I touched the 2 pins with a collar stay i found in my ashtray and low and behold the car started so i am assuming it is the button that has somehow gone bad.
Has this happened to anyone else and if so where did you buy your replacement part? Dealership price is $335 for boot and shift knob - i think that seems a bit high but it is retail pricing.
Also, anyone have a DIY to remove/reinstall rear window sunshade - that broke too - $2K fix from dealer - part alone is $1400.
thanks
mike

Please can somebody help me with this too?
My car has keyless go but it's never worked from when I bought it. I took off the oem knob and can see the two thin pin things, but not sure what I'm meant to do...I also bought an SL55 keyless knob and that doesn't work on my car either.
Some help would be really appreciated
