Paranoid ???

So I brought my car into the dealership today to replace my intercooler pump and service my transmission (of course they were happy to see me)....After the service my IATs are the same as before, with an ambient temperature of 67 degrees, the IATs start at 150 and go to 200 on a run through 3rd gear...Also my transmission cap looks original & dusty, so I don't know how they would have checked the level....

Thoughts ???

Sound like you need some explaining by someone at the dealership. Go to the head service advisor..... My IATs are typcially 20 deg above ambient when cruising. Have to break part of the cap to check oil level in trans

Sounds real high on temps.........speak to service manager and tell him your concerns and ask him to provide some sort of proof to ease your mind.

Ya, I never leave a place without seeing the piece that was replaced and also try to replicate any problem you had within 10 min, if applicable

Dont mean to thread jack but I just purchased my E55 last week and am trying become as knowledgeable as possible. They could have a full quarter long class that local college on it

From a couple of other pics I have seen in other threads, looks like this info is displayed in the information display?

More stuff to look for.

You need to buy an OBD2 data logger...I use Innovative, many use Zeitronix, some use PLX...

Well the dealership / technician committed fraud and in fact did not replace the pump.

Lesson(s) learned : (1) don't take your car to dishonest dealerships and (2) check work that has been performed by anyone you don't know / trust....For me, I will never take my car to Laguna Niguel Mercedes again....And where I will be taking it is Benzworks in Huntington Beach ....

Those MotherF#Ckers!!!! I had that happen to me. My SC clutch went out. Was told that I was getting a new SC under warranty. When I got the car back the SC was spray painted. I could tell because the Plaque (not sure spelling) with the engine builder was sprayed also. I called up the warranty company and they advised that they shelled out $5400 for the job. Went back to the indy and told him the jig was up. After I presented the proof, I was offered free service, brake job and so forth. I straightned it out my way and never took my car back there again.

I honestly think it is just bad communication and bad mechanics....I really don't think the dealerships say OK guys here is how we screw owners and make a few more dollars...

A quick update - I went to the dealership tonight to confront them...things started off bad with the Service Director...then went out and they showed me what they had "mistakenly replaced"....apologized profusely....and will be replacing the pump at no charge tomorrow. So kudos to them for doing the right thing.
