This just happened to me recently. I had no leaks but I would get the up arrow error message if I had a lot of weight in the car. It got progressively worse until the error would show up with just me in the car. I had the dealer run the code and they said the compressor was taking too long to come up to pressure. The car was sitting fine, not low, but it just took too long for it to level out. I bought a new compressor off ebay for around $300, replaced it myself, and the problem has been gone since. Dealer wanted around $700. Hope this helps

valve unit were pipe from compressor goes to and from this unit it spread around the car change pump - get good working pressure. with out good pressure all those "units" and "sensors" will continue giving you errors. exaple - valves have mechanical switches that activated by air pressure - with out good pressure switch will go 1/2 way and STAR will read error.

issue resolved and it was very very simple.... even though i went out and bought a new compressor new relay bla bla bla... (i'll end up either returning them or selling them)
it was one of the lines under the Auxiliary Battery... what had happened is when i replaced the battery somehow it was overfilled with acid and it had leaked a few drops or so right on the damm line and melted it just enough to lose air... went to benz dealer got the line connector cut it were it was melted connected both ends problem solved car back to normal as it was before..

its a place you'd never think would happen because there is nothing under to pinch the line or anything, its all free flowing but we smoked it and found it.. my shop charged me 150 to find it and install my pump relay and fix the line... its perfect now
and while that was all being done i went on and did my headlights and fog lights

Mine is doing that now and I noticed it seems to happen more when I'm in sport 2. Where should I start to figure out the problem? MB told me not to worry but I hate seeing that damn symbol pop up.

I got this same message driving home last night. I noticed the car was riding rough like in sport 2 but I was driving in comfort, then the message popped up. I pulled over and looked at the car and it seems to be raised kind of high up. I had a feeling last week that my pump is getting weak. I heard it pumping up last time when I got out of the car and it barely sounded alive. How loud are the pumps supposed to be when they are healthy?

Going to revive an old thread... Got this error message today then after turning the car off heard a big whoosh of air from the front drivers side wheel. Still learning about the car... Definitely sounds like a leak but from what? Does it sound like a major issue or minor?
TIA

Airmatic Error and Wooshing Sound

Usually you will know if a line has failed or strut is blown if you come out and it is completely slammed on one side and you have a red warning on the dash. I had to replace my driver's side strut as the bladder blew a seal.
I think my pump/compressor is getting weak as when it is really cold i will get a visit workshop warning on the dash, but not a red one.

I am located in Sacramento, CA and the car has 115,xxx miles... A lot I know. New info I noticed this morning, the rear is now sitting even but low on both sides... No wheel gap at all. And the front is sitting a little high. Changing the sport mode settings or hitting the raise button makes no changes at all. Could it be the compressor?
Also, no red warnings just the visit workshop message

If there was a "wooshing" sound, my guess is that something was leaking. And the air pump burned itself out working overtime to restore the pressure lost from leaking.
So if the pump is indeed burned out (or it could be just a fuse/relay), you may still need to fix the source of the leak if you have a leak.

My car makes a "wooshing" sound after i park it some times. I'm pretty sure it's normal as I have never had any errors, codes, or really any kind of problem related to it.

Quick update, all 4 corners are now slammed and I get the 'Car Too Low' red screen. I wish I could just drive it like this because I love the look, haha
Anyway, the way things are going make me think its the pump relay or compressor. I travel for work so won't be home again till next Friday to have it scanned.
Question, if it is the pump/relay and there is a leak somewhere would the scan also identify the location of the leak? At this point I am just hoping its not any of the air shocks themselves.

red warning light STOP CAR TOO LOW
can anyone help explain to me what this means and what the cheapest alternative is? I was told by an "uncertified mechanuc" that it's the air bag... if so is it safe to drive in this condition. for a day or so? it's a 2006 r350 Mercedes Benz
