Is there a no way I can replace my xenon bulb?????with out taking out the entire lamp

Hi guys ~

I did my search but most of my results were E55 related!

I do not know if 55 has same system as 63 so please dont get mad !!

I have e63 and recently bought 8k xenon bulb. D1S if I'm not mistaken.

Aware of the low brightness due to higher color temperature, mainly wanted

to change it because of the color .

Any how I took a peak inside ~ NO ROOM for my hand to reach the back

of the lamp housing !!

Is there anyway I can do this without taking out the lamp housing and

front bumper ???? Shall I just take it to a local indy Benz shop ?????

Here are some pics for those of you who spent time reading my thread !!

Thank you and dive safe everyone !! Avoid COPS ~!!

I replaced my stock one with 8000K with not issue. PIA but it can be done. Remove the coolant tank to gain more room. I hope you have small hands.

Just gave a another shot !! But couldn't figure it out !!! Coolant tank has

only one bolt that holds it ?????

also passenger side where the ABS module is ~ How can I access this side ?

I can undo the bulb cover but cannot see anything.

I could reach the little metal box that is attached to the bulb . When I tried

to turn it ~ It made whining sound . I stopped , though I m braking something.

Please help ~!!

I hate to throw this out, but it might not be the bulb. It could be the starter or ballast. Worst case something is hosed so when you finally get a fresh bulb in, it will blow. I ended up having a whole xenon assembly replaced.

No no, it sounds like you will be fine if the current bulb is working. It is just that sometimes the bulb is blown as a result of another bad component in the system so when a new bulb is put in, it blows too.

Just move the coolant tank aside, it not that hard to remove the tank. . Removing the bulbs is easy, putting it back is a PIA!! there should be enough room on either side to replace they bulb. I did it twice and at night time. Just remember what position the bulbs is in when you take it out or you will break the vertical bar that attached to the bulb when you trying to turn it.
