Check out this calculator.. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

You need to stay within 2% dfferences between the front and rear tires.. A 245/40/18 is to tall for a 285/30/18 and the computer might free out.

Here is a comparison pix between 285/30/18 General to 275/35 Hankook.
I think General looks like 295+ kinda crazy wide. Hope this will fit my stock 9" rims.

And other pix is Nexen 7000 265/35/18 compare to the General.

I have 285/30 Hanook EVO12s on the rear and they look normal. That General tire looks like a 315 Can tire brands have that much width difference?

I measured the General 285s and they were 12" wide, I measured the Conti DWs 275s I had on before and they were only 11". So yes the Generals are pretty wide for the size. I rub slightly, but am pretty slammed.

That's crazy!!! 1" wide = 25.4mm

So the General is a 305

I guess going to a 295/30r18 Hanook shouldn't rub at all. My 285 are 10.75" so Hanooks run thin at 273 which explains the picture 273 Hanook vs 305 General and both are selling as 285 Wow...

Thanks.

Yup, stock rears are 9" and I put them on the front then I bought some SL55 9.5" rears on ebay and put them on the rear. The filment is very nice!

SL55, S500
Ventus EV12 is the best value tire on the market.

As for General UHP it was the first tire I've ever had it wasn't that great with road noise/comfort/handling.
