2012 E63 AMG interior
I have been loving my 07 e63 and started looking at 2012 but.... What did they do to the interior? The rear seats appear to have less bolster. Did they get rid of 4 zone climate control? It seems the quality has gone down as well.
Can someone chime in on this I haven't had a chance to go see one in person yet.

Re-do your interior with black suede, red stitching, and diamond pattern will save you a whole lot of money. Yes, the w212 interior is a major disappointment. Even my wife can tell and she doesn't care about cars. I do like the new tt engine thought.

IMO your observations are spot on, lots of cost cutting on W212 if one looks closely.
Look at the door panels, headliner, carpet, etc. etc. I was told by a good source that W211 interior has 63% of S-Class quality interior content while W212 has 63% of C-Class content. Hopefully the face lifted 2013 W212 will include better interior quality.

I dunno...I sat in a 2011 E63 and thought it was pretty retardedly sick. I do believe the W211's interior was ahead of it's time in quality and materials but the W212 looks very modern imo and the 2012 shift knob is absolutely sick.

Just to clarify, I was in the lowly E550, not E63 AMG. I was in the CLS63 AMG and wasn't impress, the leather felt cheap.

when I had bought my 04 E55, I had bought it because it had "The Look" curves, elegance, and just excuse me for saying she looked sexy lol! and the interior matched, curves , elegance and sex appeal!
(although I beg to differ on the quality!as mine fell apart lol!)

I just CAN'T get over new body lines OR interior! granted the TT motor is great and has power! I think a car should appeal to my every liking. Not trying to bash trust me! I wished I liked it and I tried but couldn't.
That being said I've moved on already.

Seems that the engine guys had control of the budget. I only hear great things about the TT motor. But it appears that they forgot about the interior. Maybe they have heard the complaints and are back at the drawing board figuring out how to make it right. I love the interior of my 07, but have heard similar comments about the new model.
Maybe MB will get it right on the next go round !!!
