2007 E63
Exhaust on a e63

I am thinking about removing the resonator and the secondary cats on my 2007 e63 and leaving the factory mufflers. I was wondering how much you guys paid for that? What size tubing did you guys use? Should I do more of the exhaust. I still have a factory warranty so I don't want to have a problem.

Thanks

If you have warranty, I say just take out resonator and put x-pipe in there and call it a day. E63 already sound nice.

Delete resonator and go with straight pipes.. Dont need to delete the cats on a 63 to get a nice tone.

Why would you go with a x pipe in place of the resonator rabbi?

The secondary cats already have a cross over to equalize pressure.. You dont need an x pipe in place of the resonator

Yes it sounds great when you step on it but at when your stopped, it makes that puttt puttt putttt tractor sound. My buddy did that to his E63 and then put X-pipe on. If your you want loud over stock, straight pipes. If you want something just a bit more aggressive, x-pipe

Ive replaced my resonators with straight pipes and it sounds way more aggressive then a X pipe. Even though the X pipe sounds smoother it just doesn't produce the same "bark" an AMG should have.
However, replacing 2ndary cats with an X pipe and replacing the resonators with straight pipes sounds perfect imo (Thats why I went with this setup).

MBH 2ndary cat delete X pipe + resonator delete (straight pipes)

Complete straight pipe (2ndary cats + resonators)
Notice how this setup sounds more aggressive but raspier as well.

That second option does sound nice....I don't know I wouldn't want it to be loud. Maybe I am just saying that cause my Miesterschaft exhaust got me NOT wanting to do anything to my exhaust ever again lol

It does sound nice but gets way too raspy around 3.5k RPM.
Very loud at WOT.
That's one of the reasons why changed my mid section to an X pipe.

Kleemann headers and 3.5 straight piping to resonator.
Sound is amazing I can not tell how good this thing sound and it is only loud when on the gas. If you like install some headers if not do piping from stock headers back. Get a tune OE and BMC filters and you are good for around 465 RWHP.

No problem man!
If I remember correctly I paid around $180 (parts + instal) for the Magnaflow X pipe. This was prior to getting the MBH X pipe.
Really don't know how much it would cost if the muffler shop fabricates you a custom one.

I had the resonators and the cat deletes done at Buckhead Imports Performance here in Atlanta. Stock mufflers. They fabricated the X-pipe and I ordered in the MBH LT headers. Great product. Sound is fantastic especially at speed. PM me and I can hook you up with Greg or Jason and they can go over pricing and set you up really nice.
You will have no complaints that is for sure.
Good Luck on your build.

The guy lives in Miami.... Why would he go all the way out to Atlanta just to get cats and resonators deleted

What's the price on the meisteschaft for an 2009 E63 and what does it include? Is it catback or just muffler?
