Heavy as hell, but tried and true. Loving my 200mm ASP.
It's a tank....and heavy as one too.

Yep that sucks big time!..Seems like all the two peice style pulleys have not truly worked out. That is the reason I went ASP 185 welded. Has been straight and true since Day 1. I might add the Shardul/Brook snout pulley to take it to 195 once I get the KC and Cams in, but my ASP is NEVER coming off!

Craig- That is terrible news considering how much effort you have been making to get the beast to the track. I was hanging with Greg and Eddie yesterday and Greg mentioned the track date for your car. Then this happens.
I am sure you will get it all sorted out. Good Luck.

I have an ASP 195, pretty sure I was the first one in the states to go that big. Ive had it on for at least 2 years now. Its a 2 piece design with an aluminum outer ring. Its not a bolt together like the RTR pulley but press fit and pinned with small counter sunk allen set screws. Zero issues and weight is similar to stock. Lee over at ASP recommended this design but I haven't seen anyone else with this style, not sure if I was guinea pig or what but I'm happy with the results.

I do hope that you get your issue resolved and really appreciate that you made this issue known to others and feel your pain as we have all gone through it at some point...
On the topic of pulleys , as we have known for a while that the majority of the ones that work are built from the stock harmonic balancer. Example being Renntech, Klemann, EVOtech, ASP. However evosport and renntech both came out with their own designs, and I have not heard anything bad of those correct me if i am wrong, these were the 168mm ones
as an example, but i think the pic is a bit outdated

I've been quiet about this so far but its time to start talking... I too had a RTR pulley come off and after taking 3 days to get it off low and behold my crank is TRASHED. I had my engine builder/head porter there with me helping me get the pulley off for 2 1/2 hours lastnight just to find a crankshaft that is beyond repair. I had the pulley profesionally installed at a shop in NOVA that several guys on the forum use and they've installed 3 pulleys for me without a problem and they've NEVER had a comeback due to a pulley. The have washed their hands of this because of craigs pulley being messed up and even after double pinning it hes still got a problem. So the question is this RTR/Brooke/Shardul. Where do we go from here??? The pulley is defective and has nothing to do with my car making alot of power/torque. The 722 SLR makes that on a stock pulley and keyway but they dont throw pulleys or tear up crankshafts. So as of now i'm out a car,$890 for the pulley,$215 for install,8 hours of my time,2 1/2 hours that i'm sure i will pay my engine builder in the future. Now i'm going to have to R&R the engine, Take to my engine builder to replace the crank and bearings not to mention misc gaskets, fluids, paying for the labor etc etc etc.

Steve's crank snout and RTR pulley damage below:
Personally I did speak to Shardul last night and initially just wanted my money back for the RTR products I got from them. Patrick (PTE_) mentioned a valid point last night that I did not think about, he said that there is a possibility that the runout on my crank could be bad due to the first failure on the dyno, and that is what could be causing the wobble now.
I am taking the car into BIP to check and see if my crank bolt has back out, or if it is in it's original spot. If the bolt had not moved, then my runout is bad, and my crank is hurt. That is a different story if that is the case. I dont see how that could be though, because it had no wobble when we installed it the second time, and idled the car pre-dyno. The wobble was slight after the dyno, and got to the point it is at now after some street driving.

Sorry to hear guys,I hope you can get the cars back together without having to spend to much into swapping a crank in.I think gtr did some type of crank modding to get his pulley back on without a keyway and Im sure that can be done on yours also.
I would saggest a pulley like pte has, like mine and like most tuners like renntech, kleemann, brabus etc use a stock oem pulley and press fit a outer ring on without welds that could throw the ballance off.
I went threw the wobbling pulleys and the stress you get thinking you can damage the engine is not worth the 300-400 in savings.
I will have a oem 180 for sale soon if I can get some time to install the stock pulley on my car and if you need a stock pulley to get a outer ring press fitted on I have a few of those also.

Wobble in it's self isn't a big issue unless it's a huge amount. In Hawkins case, it's enough to hit the water pump pulley. This obviously won't work. I would just swap in a smaller pulley and live with the wobble. My car has had wobble for over a year and it's been fine. I also race it almost daily.
