E55 AMG
The E55 is da bomb, but...
...I long for the days of the old W124 Hammer. The new E55 is beautiful and classy with awesome peformance. However, MB has taken the high road with a car that is more refined, but less brash than its predecessors. OK, it's not the '80s, and I'm not the young man I was back then either, but the memory of those flaming red Hammers with the chrome bits and grills painted in body color red still gets my motor running. I wish the new E55 would take a few cues from the W124 Hammer and the W210 E55, here's my wish list:
- A more agressive body kit, 19" multipiece wheels as standard, and a rear lip spoiler option. I want a look that instantly says "AMG" to the non-MB enthusiast.
- Steering wheel. Needs to be fatter like the W210, bring back the perforated leather and two tone colors on the wheel too.
- Bolder two tone options for the interior, bring back the AMG signiture black and gray combo. I'd take a racier looking seat design while we're at it.
- Carbon fibre trim on the B pillars ala the W210 E55, C36 & C43
- AMG logo on the front spoiler ala the '99 E55 & C36
I know most of you are going for the new E55 because of its understated classy look. But hey, I guess I'm just going through a bit of mid life crisis.

I can understand. It's like my old 1988 930 turbo Porsche, the driving experience cannot be duplicated, yes the new ones are more sophisticated and faster but the the giant surge that comes on when the huge turbo spools up, the sound from that wicked aircooled flat six, the vault like build quality and the hold on for dear life ride leaves me with fond memories,very fond memories indeed
