Changing the Command Head Unit Options

Are there any good options out there to switch the nav in the e55? What about something like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-Ben...#ht_8655wt_999

It seems like the only thing you would lose is the CD changer, which I am fine with. It even has the same fiber system, meaning it should just be plug and play. Anybody have any experience with anything like this? I am just surprised I haven't seen more people switch to this, making me think maybe there is something wrong with this switch.

I would never put something like this into my car. OEM is the way to go! Get the latest updated software and maps and call it a day!

I agree about OEM being the way to go, but Mercedes simply does not offer a quality option in this department. I actually just found there real store, and for the price they are, they could be steal for what we're looking for.

The problem with just using the updates is that it doesn't fix the problems I have seen with the nav.

I think we would lose the cd player, which I am fine with. As far as nav, they have the maps and everything on the site, it looks to be better (let's be honest, how could it be worse?). The second site I listed is actually for the US and everything, making me think this would work here, unlike most of the other options I have seen.

Just make sure the speed on that thing. Some of crappy chinese made are very slow to process Nav or the screen. If you can see and try it physically then go for it. And yes, very hard to be worse than OEM unit.....
