E55 vs E63TT

Maybe this has been mentioned before.. How fast is e63tt against e55? A lot faster or so so? I have searched for this comparison for a while but can't seem to find.

It's a "no contest" for the newer car. Way better trans, turbos are efficient rather than a parasitic blower, and the new motor is a few generations ahead of the M113.

The E63TT AMG under the right conditions with a ecu will run a 10.8-10.9 EASY !!! I can see it getting very low 10s even 9s once other tuners create a file and other mods are developed.

Too bad the body styling is so ugly on those new E63s...I won't it no matter how fast it is. E55 looks way better IMO, to each his own.

2014 should fix that and hopefully the interior too (facelift). Read it may come as early as Jan 2013.

Not only the engine is more efficient, the tranny and handling are also much better than E55. Our 55 is almost 10 years old.....

couldn't agree more,in a year or two i plan on trading my 2007 E63 in on the 2012 just b/c i know it will be a total beast after i send the ECU off to OE.those cars are close to 700/700 crank after a tune, that is unreal.just imagine what they could do with some bigger turbos or race gas or etc?

anyway long story short,i will only trade if the new body style grows on me,b/c right now i can't stand the looks of them the W211 is such a pretty car and still looks mean.the W212 just looks mean and ugly to me,no offense.i hate change,so i'm hoping i'll get used to it b/c i really want to drive one.

It might be cool if they base it around the new SL. That new body style is classy as hell IMHO.

+1 I plan on waiting a few years and seeing what they do. If it's not a major improvement than I'll probably pick up a 2012 or 2013, but unless there is issues I will be picking up a TT.

Both stock or modded?

Because a modded 55 and a stock TT is not going to be pretty for the TT.

Both stock and according to MB's numbers it would be a drivers race.

Putting the engine in would be easy, the W211 had the 63 engine and so did the W212 so yes the engine would fit fine but that's the least of your worries for a swap. The electronics in these cars are ****** and therefore will present incredible problems for it to work. You would need custom programming etc. Honestly it wouldn't be worth it now since the price of a 5.5TT is crazy and you could just get the new CLS which is sexier than the E55. The W212 is ugly compared to the W211 E63 but to the E55 it's a supermodel The E55 is a very ugly car IMO, I mean I love it and happy with it but it's one ugly duck. The E63 W211 fixed that though, it's incredible what a facelift can do

I've seen bone stock models of each car run at the track.
E63tt 12.0x@116 non-pp
E55k 12.0x@116

Of course under different conditions, the cars will react differently. Stock to stock, I think they are very close. Tuning on the 63tt is much more productive than on the 55k

The 2012 E63TT is a beast stock. I don't think any other stock E class even compares to it.

Agree, CLS63TT is much better looking than W212.
Surely the 63TT is faster compare to 55K but its 10 years old different technology and a heavy mod 55K still can smoke 63TT with tune.
