No extended warranty because I'm the extended warranty. We have a shop and we take care of all the problems that have come up.

I have ext warranty for 3 years and let me tell you, they are not worth it.
Paid $3K for it and they can reject the claim as they want. Plus, you have to do all the work in the stealer. If stealer quote $3K you can actually find a good indy shop for $1K. They also over charge ext warranty that's why ext warranty is very expensive today.

All warranties I've found for my 05 have been in upwards of 4-5k+ to start and end up at well over 12k (4 years 50 dollar deductable etc). I'd rather just roll the dice now and save up for that 63TT or C63 Coupe.

However yesterday I noticed my car was having that infamous gas smell in the cabin and the car is at the dealership now.... LOL..

I bought an 03 with 50K miles with no warranty and I'm not worried much at all. I have a buddy with a shop that builds race cars, I've swapped motors transmissions and axles on my own before, not much I can't do on my own. Also I can usually find parts for pretty good deals.

I can get a whole new motor with blower and accessories for what some of these people are spending on a warranty. I'm gonna keep this thing for a few years and I think I'll come out ahead on not having a warranty. If I don't, that just means I've had the opportunity to gain more experience and learn more about various cars that will save me even more money down the road.

Its nice being a DIY'er that's been around the block a few times.

What's crazy is I could buy a couple cases of beer (to use my buddies shop), a few hundred in parts and have all that fixed in under a day probably. I see what dealers charge for simple repair work and my head about explodes.

These cars are like a car guy that's getting a lil olders dream come true! lol

I have a warranty on my E55 and I'm very happy to have one. When I bought the car, it had 1.5 years left on a Fidelity Platinum. When that was about to expire, I was able to get a NAC Pinnacle at a very good price. I paid $2100 for a 4 year/50k, $50 ded warranty and it has paid for itself in the past 6 months. MB replaced the steering angle sensor, seat module and a trunk module under the NAC warranty. Under the Fidelity, they did valve cover gaskets, rear main seal, sunroof mechanism and motor mounts.

My warranty ran out just a little while ago. After one mile outside the warranty all of a sudden I get more mail about extended warranties than the publisher clearinghouse telling me I could be the next winner !!
Too many posts about people with warranties that end up getting screwed at the dealership for one violation or another so they can get out of honoring it. Typical for insurance products though.
I have a great shop here in Atlanta that keeps a close eye on the car so I am just going to chance it with regular maintenance . Car has been a friend so far !!
