My Warranty is up in 4k miles.. anyone else without a warranty?

Anyone else driving without a warranty? I'm going to be enjoying (crosses fingers) the last year with my car without a warranty. I have 72k on the clock and for me to add onto my existing warranty is nearing 5k. I'm going to start saving for a 63TT in the meantime.

I've already replaced some big expenses
Motor mounts.
Leaky rear main seal.

Possible things to look forward too (hopefully not)
ABC
airmatic

Anyone else just think im nuts? :p

My car has no warranty. A airmatic strut went out 1400 installed at the dealer.
My car just turned 39000 miles so who knows u may need it may not but, if u have no bad luck these cars should only be about 1500 a yr to maintain I think.

I've been without warranty for two years.
Just keep up with maintenance and fix what ever comes up.

I'm without too. When my CPO ran out in April, I cancelled the MB extended warranty and took the refund of $4,250 or so. Could be costly - don't know. But not sure how long I'll keep the car and the added warranty brought very little in terms of trade value or private sale value increase.

Extended warranties (as are all warranties) a gamble in favor of the issuer! Put the money in the bank and make the gamble odds yours!

I bought mine w 65k on the clock and could care less about a warranty. Whatever breaks I'll fix it, and every warranty I've ever had on a car got voided due to modifications.

Yep. I think the only bottom-feeder lower than an aftermarket insurance adjuster is a bill collector. They are about 2 cels up from plankton.

same plan i have.i figure in 2013-14 i'll trade my 2007 in on a 2012.i bought mine a couple months ago with 72,000 miles,it has 75,000 now.i do not have a warranty and don't plan on getting one.

i have a pretty good relationship with an excellent indy and i think the warranty would be a waste of money.the only warranty i would consider buying, which i can't get on this car ios the Mercedes extended warranty.just my opinion.

Extended Warranty

I think it depends on your circumstances. If you're putting a lot of miles on it daily (why my seller sold in 1st place) you might wanna look into it. IM retired so I do less than half the driving I used to do, prolly just a third. I was also advised to do it my but my MB driving buddy who suggested it puts almost 80K per YEAR on his ML350. That's just nuts. Id say save your money and replace what needs replacing, it aint gonna come to 5k a year. Got my beast with 50K on it, put 6 o it in 8 months. All is well.

Thanks guys, I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that I'm not alone in doing this lol. I only put about 10-12k on a year at the most. I barely drive her hard, a couple 0-100 blasts a week possibly to get the blood flowing . Its nearly impossible to trade in this car and get another car that is as much fun as this one and still remains classy and refined (without spending 85k+).

Exactly my driving habits Johnny. Been without warranty for years and years now without major problems. Some parts here and there like front strut which runs bout 700 beans but nothing big. You should be fine. Just change that oil faithfully!!!!!!!

Sounds like I'm alone on this... but I wouldn't own one without a strong warranty.

I bought my E55 8 months ago. 2004, heavily optioned with 38k miles.

And it's been in the shop 3 times already. Once for regular service, but they found extra things wrong with it. Second time, leaking rear main seal. Third for leaking transmission. All repair work covered under warranty, which has paid out over $5k. I have NAC Pinnacle and it cost me $4,200 for 4yr/60k.

And the damn thing is giving me issues again. Errors that my distronic has been disabled... and also "battery protection convenience functions unavailable". I'm guessing voltage regulator or something like that. And it's just a matter of time before the airmatic fails.

I'm considering "upgrading" to an 08 E63. As awesome as this car is, it just needs a lot of love. Knowing how expensive repairs can be (especially at MB rates) there's no way in heck I'd drive one of these without my NAC Pinnacle warranty (or some other exclusionary plan).
