What is that God awful creaking noise?

What is that God awful creaking noise?
Went on a road trip this weekend and had an awesome time stretching the legs on the beast. When I got home I started noticing a creaking noise coming from the front end when going over bumps and turning the steering wheel. Also raised the car using the button on the center console and it almost made a popping noise as if some joints were sticking and then giving. No airmatic messages and the ride is otherwise normal. Car also is sitting normal. Any ideas what I might be looking at when I take it in to the shop?

I don't know if they are the same, but my car was clunking at the front end quite a while ago and it turned out to be the ball joints on my sway bar...

Got the car back yesterday and it was indeed the lower ball joints. Drives like a completely different car now, like its on rails. Unfortunately the pano roof took a dump on the way home from the shop. Think this love hate relationship is coming to an end...
