I don't know about you, but I rather have a little bit less torque and little more hp up top. Torque is what brake shiats.

One thing that generates tq is Cubic inches which the 5.4 litre has, and the second is changing out the crank pulley and not the blower pulley. If the pulley of choice to change was the blower pulley, I guarentee it would not make as much tq. Creating boost via the crank pulley produces a large increase in tq.

I agree. But it also takes a good tune.

Why would it not make as much torque? Both result in spinning the supercharger faster. If the SC is spinning at same speed it shouldn't mater which pulley you changed

I think spinning the blower faster either way will make more power and torque. It's possible with the extra load of the larger pulley it could make a little more but im not sure on that one. The reason these cars make the crazy torque is because 331CI (almost 332CI) and a screw blower that makes its boost instantly.

it does make a difference, I am not sure why though. The reasoning stems from owning several terimators and my Lightning. When those cars first came out, guys were just changing the blower pillows to a much smaller diameter. Well that started causing severe belt slip, so for increased belt wrap, they started leaving the upper pulley alone, and changed the crank pulley. What happened was the following, changing uppers only to say a 2.81 resulted in 460/470 on a04 cobra car. Leaving the blower pulley alone and changing the crank pulley to say a 8lb lower would result in 440/540. I will find out why the distribution is so different for you guys.

Take the belt off and spray it with brake clean and the pulleys also. They get oily and causes belt slip. 2 things that work great to stop it if that dosent work is hair spray and the best is VHT.

That's true because ultimately torque without power is no fun and useless but it gives you bragging rights you know. It's not just the number either, it's the curve and when the torque is at it's peak which in these cars is very low in the RPM range which means this car is an incredible daily driver, it doesn't scream and shout when driving normally but glides and is effortless and for me that's invaluable since I commute daily and the traffic is a *****

I'm surprised that the 6.3 Weistecs don't make more than these in torque I mean 5.4 is pretty big but not enormous. I mean Exotic's car is making over 700wtq for example which is over 900 crank tq and that's about as much as the Veyron makes (not SS) and that's a quad turbo W16
