Ok so long story short. My car was in the shop for service and the gas tank leak. I took it in on Sat and they said I should have it by Monday. Monday came and each day they said it would be ready the next day. Today I get a call and they say if not today tomorrow. Now I have a bad feeling that something has happend to my car and they are trying to cover it up, but I laugh it off after all this is Mercedes! (happened to me before years ago with Honda) I get a call later on today and they say the car is ready. They bring my car to the front and the guys is telling how nice my car is and how they like the black accents that I did, etc. He is trying to hold the door open for me to get in the car. I stop him mid sentence and start my walk around and inspection. I get to the back and find this it's a lot more noticable in person. To make things even worse I had to find it myself.

What would cause the plastic to crack, was it dented and they tried to fix it? Do I need to worry about damage behind the bumper or my parktronic sensor?

The rub marks should buff out. Not sure about the crack. Is the bumper cracked or just the paint?

I'm sure the dealer buffed all they could out. I'd crawl under there or have them call you after removing the bumper cover to look for hidden damage. They backed into someone or another car ran into yours or the side of it rubbed against you or something obviously. Look for the random support parts behind the bumper to have cracks.

Will do thanks, I was thinking the same thing about them buffing all they could out and hoping I would be in a rush and wouldn't notice.......

Take pics, and take it straight back there, ask for the service manager, and demand a top notch repair job man.

make them fix that sh*t asap !!! when my left airmatic strut went out the flat bed tow truck mercedes sent scraped the bottom of my front end. i told my service rep and he said consider it taking care of and sent to a good paint and body shop to fix the paint.

that is horrible. just goes to show you can never trust a service dept. you have to check your car everytime you go in or out of there. whether they tried to get over on you or really didnt notice, if you drive off without telling them you are scrooed.

Hope it all works out and they fix it to like new condition for you without any problems.

sidenote: I just picked mine up a few days ago and since i rarely use the trunk didnt open it until 3 or 4 days later. Guess what, skid plate in my trunk. I called and emailed and brought it in next day. Guess what now. All the undercarriage of my car was fine and in place. They tossed someone elses parts in my trunk and have no clue wehre they came from.

so somewhere there is a MB on the road without protection underneath and the owner has no clue. careless lazy fools

One more reason not to go dealer....... ask the Service Manager to fix the bumper and check the parking sensors if any damage.

If they dont repair it for you, I'd key or dent up one of their new AMG's, but a nicer one too, S class, CL class, G class, SL class.

SLS bumpers and paint are expensive I believe, especially if it has the Alumabeam paint job

Talked to the Service Manager and he was real nice. They are going to fix my bumper which was not as bad as it looked yesterday, I went over there today to take a closer look. They also refunded my service fees.

They gave me a c-class loaner yesterday and I asked the loaner guy if they had anything else because I'm going for a long drive this weekend to the in-laws, and I won't be able to pickup my car until next thursday at the earliest he said " This is all we have" I looked outside and said what about that GLK parked out there, he said "Well it needs to be inspected" I said come with me for a moment and we walked outside. I showed him my car and said I brought that in here. He said "Wow, the E63 AMG!, oh I can't have you in this C let me look and see if I have something special in the back" They gave me a brand new 2012 E350 with P1 and some other goodies.

I didn't realize they come with paddle shifters now and the new 350 motor surprised me as well, also the bluetooth streaming audio and usb support are pretty sick. It pulled up 4k songs in a few seconds, just happened to have a usb on me from a data transfer I did.

Now they just need to fix my bumper. They know that if the color doesn't match exactly, they will be painting my whole car.

Got back from business trip to pickup car back bumper was looking good nice paint match and smooth as a babies bottom. I start my walk around and My wife said "uh babe there is a problem"…....windshield cracked......but it gets better notice bottom mesh on front bumper is crooked, sure enough it's out of the clips. Front bumper was curbed and cracked........talked to the manager he apologizes and says it will get fixed, says it was probably the body shop people who did the bumper. I'll drop it off next week not leaving it there again lol. It gets even better I take my kids to school this morning and scratches from the gas tank to the front fender, immediately back to the dealer ......they will fix the scratches too now. Worst experience from any car dealership I have ever been to. Ford treated my Cobra better than MB treats their AMG's WTF!

What should I do at this point? I'm not trying to get over, but I feel like there taking advantage of my niceness. My uncle who owns a s550 said to call MB corporate and file a complaint because they should be compensating me for stress,time, etc.

So sad this happens in our mb service centers. They definitely tried to cover it up and buff the damage out. Keep us updated

Yes $&@# happens but for the price and reputation of this brand I don't expect so much to happen, ever heard of Quality Control?

They at least admitted to everything and are fixing it.

White is a easy color to match as is any non metallic color.
I had my neighbor paint my front bumper painted in his garage . Cant tell
