I have always like to have a spare key zip tied somewhere on the car incase I lock my keys in, lose them, etc., but with the key the Benz uses, that is not an option.

What are yall doing, if anything?

I keep the spare metal key in my wallet, its small and flat enought so incase my keys get locked in the car I can open the door manually.

That key won't start the car correct? So what happens if you lose the key?

Also, can that metal key be made somewhere?

The small metal key won't turn the car, it can only open the driver side door and trunk. If you want a spare key, just buy a new key..... $250 or $300 now. I paid $250 4 years ago for my E500 with Keyless go function.

Iphone has an APP for M-brace call them and they will unlock your car. Done.

oh yes..... same here, i only use keyless go so key always in my pocket.

I keep an old key without batteries hidden away in my car and keep the metal blade in my wallet.

I can open the door with the metal blade and start the car with the fob. No batteries so keyless go doesn't freak out and won't lock/unlock if bumped.

am i missing something here? my car wont let me lock the keys in it. so why would u worry about locking them inside ?

Ya same here.. If i try and lock the car with the keyless go button with the key still in the car if wont lock
