Am I being paranoid? crank pulley movement
Hey everyone. I just picked up my 06 E55 two days ago. I love everything about the car and I'm even happier to be joining such an awesome family of E55 enthusiasts. Thank you for everyone that offered me information and advice in my previous thread. Big ups especially to Shardul, and Masonh66 who PM'ed throughout the whole process. ![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)

Anyways. This morning I noticed my crank pulley moving around a bit, so I recorded it. It is a Eurocharged 180mm pulley. It seems to move around more during idle. When there is any throttle applied, it stays nice and straight. There is no leaking around the crank seal, but I don't want to take any chances of messing up the motor. Can someone please tell me that im just being overly cautious? After reading all the bad pulley stories im starting to feel like![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

my car started making the squeaking noise after my 175mm pulley was installed. I know I have a new tensioner on there, it was replaced at the dealer about two months ago. what could cause the squeaking? it increases with the RPM. when I have time I will remove the s/c belt and isolate which belt the squeaking is coming from

pearl- The pulley movement is less apparent when I try to capture it on video. Yours seems to sit perfectly still when its in motion. Do you think its something I should be worried about?
The noise sounds like its coming from one of the pulleys on the right side of the motor. I'm not too sure what it is but, right now im more concerned about pulley in question.

i guess it'll be going back to the dealer for another pulley replacement. just gotta wait for the charcoal canister code to come back so they replace that as well in one claim.

What Pulley wobble
This one looks pretty good . No belt movement . T/S motorsport nailed it. If the motor is rocking on the motor mounts , from a rough idle it will fool the eye. I had the same issue . My rough idle is from the cams causing the motor movement. The belt and tensioner were dead smooth. relax go have some fun. But fix the squeak first

I thought I had major crank pulley wobble once and it turned out to be an illusion created by a bad tensioner pulley assembly and idler pulley. Have those two things checked soon. It's easier to notice if the tensioner pulley assembly is going bad because it can tick and rattle loudly. With my idler pulley, I had no idea it had gone south too until we took it off and it just about literally fell apart. I bought the ASP idler pulley and an OEM tensioner assembly and had them both replaced in one visit.

you're fine. Like others said, sound like you have a bearing going, most likely on your tension pulley.
