Water moisture killed my low beam after a car wash ~08 E63 AMG Warranty fix? or DIY
Hi guys ~
After a car wash I noticed water moisture build up inside my driver side lowbeam
housing. During the wash my low beam lights were both fully functional.
After turning it off , driver side low beam wont lit up.
I think the water has damaged ballast. I checked to see if the bulb was bad,
it works on passenger side, when I replaced it. So I assume its ballast or
blown fuse. If I want to find the low beam fuse where is it located?
I know there are two fuse compartments , one on the side of driver side dash
and the other one inside trunk on the left side.
Here is the question , do you think I can have this fix under warranty ????
I mean passenger side is fine after a same car wash .
Or shall I just get a used ballast off ebay and fix it my self.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
My car is 08 63amg with 43k miles.

I had a lateral motor break in the headlight assembly on my previous 2004 E55 and it was ~$1700 to replace (parts and labor) because you had to buy a completely new assembly. Not sure what the cost would be on an E63, but ~$1700 might be a starting point for an estimated cost.
